I got my card BACK today. after RMAing it. I have tested this card over and over and always had that Black Screen Audio Looping error, with new drivers while running on stock (out of the box) speeds.

Obviously I am unhappy because of the waste of time and money and the fact that it could be something also in my system that is wrong. I honestly dont know what to do now. I guess Ill have to run this card Underclocked as I did before.

Sorry to hear your situation was not sorted out with the RMA. Did they send you back your original card or was the new one problematic as well?

Also looked up you PSU and there's an outside chance that it may not be up to running the X1950 Pro. The Seasonic S12-430 looks like it's a 430w Dual-Rail unit with 14a and 15a on the +12v rails. I also noticed it doesn't have a PCI-E connector for this HIS, so I assume you're using a Molex Adapter? Some people were having issues getting the Adapter to fit properly and caused the HIS to behave erratically. How was yours? Also, how old is the power supply?

I kept getting the black screen when running intensive games / benchmarks with my X1950pro (connect3d), even after the rma.
Think I have sussed it on mine though.
The fan speed was not adjusting when the core temp increased, bunged on Riva tuner and set it to 100% and it sailed through everything I threw at it.

Dunno if the problem is with the cat 7.1's and Vista, as when I try to run CCC, windows cannot find the start file.
Had to run Riva tuner in compat. mode and as admin. for it to work properly.

Hi my friends, how goes it? Big Wayne you still about :D

HIS fan has now settled down, at long last. No reason why, it just stopped it's rattle after about 6 weeks. Must admit to being VERY tempted by the 320mb GTS, but the fact is the PRO does every game so well at 1280x1024, I'd simply be spending money for the heck of it.

i sent mine back beacause of fan noise i hope when they look at it it will still make the noise mine was only 3days old so i hope it didn't have time to settle down

Wigster, mine would only make the sound about once every 3 days to begin with, but only after a heavy gaming session. I was gonna send it back and was worried that it wouldn't make the sound for them. But then it seemed to cease and I thought I'd cured it with my "blu tack mod" :p Then it returned about two weeks later  So I got an RMA number and vowed to send it off. But then I got caught up in work, and didn't send it back. That was a month ago, and it hasn't made a rattly sound since. God knows!

I would keep returning it to them, at the end of the day wether or not it makes the noise for them is irrelevant, if it rattles at all, that's not what you paid £130 squids for!

I just got the Saphire X1950 Pro agp 512 and am pretty happy with it except that I can get no stable overclock at all with it. Even just a few MHZ and it wont reboot properly. I can run 3dmark06 immediately after overclocking but when it reboots and riva tuner applies the overclock the screen goes dead and it locks up.

1st Card I've ever had that won't overclock at all! When I did OC (621/1434) it it went from 4900 to 5400 on 3dMark06 so it's worthwhile to do. This is on an Asrock 775i65g with a C2D e6300 at 2100Mhz. (Gave my e6600 to my son on his DS3 and he's running at 3.6ghz with it! Makes a great low cost (£278 upgrade costs ) gaming rig for CS Source, WoW, DF2, CC Generals etc all at highest settings. Looks good on my 20inch 1680x1050 monitor I just got for £150 from a competitor. Only has analog but it still looks fine!

Anyway the card is much better than the 512Mb Gainward 6800GS that was running at 516/1400. Thought that was great for an AGP card when I got it but this blows it away! Was getting 3dMark06 scores of 2900 on the same rig as above for about a 70% increase and it cost less than the 6800 did back then also! Gave the 6800 to my daughter who's recently gotten into WoW in a big way and she loves it as an upgrade to a 9800 Pro on a Prescott 3Ghz rig.

yea you are right abou that but also it would be costing me over £130 as you have to pay for your own postage it cost me £7.40 i know its not much but when you are buying something and also paying if its faulty its not really good

i did send them a email asking if they pay costs but i never got a reply

i can overclock my sapphire card a little using ati tray tools. it doesn't go very far though. just 615 on the gpu and 715 on the mem. hardly worth it. besides since i got it, i'm only playing games which don't need a decent card.... :o

a nice big  for me. :D

You get your money back apparently for postage if they accept the RMA.

do they :) thats sounds better ill have to find the special delivery stub i doubt they will refund you if you have no proof, when i had to send something back to another company i had to put the stub in the box,if i didnt put it in they wouldn't refund me even if i posted it

Thank the Lord of the GPUs. I just received my HIS ICEQ3 - RMA back and the card works beautifully. 3DMarks are few hundred points higher now. I used ATI Tray Tool 3DRenderer to stress the card and I saw load temps go up to 61c and held my breath. The new HIS didn't even break a sweat and was solid as a rock. Bumped-up the fan speed a little to keep it cool, 38c idle/52c load. The Old HIS would crap-out at 54c. All my previous issues are gone and now it's time for some gaming.

nice

 These is bad, can it get any worse. My HIS X1950 Pro ICEQ3-Turb 512MB AGP is going bad, for about 7 weeks it ran perfect, not a glitch. Now the picture rolls and than goes bank, I have to reboot, this only happens in 3d (gaming). This really $uck$ bad, I thought this one was perfect and would last for ever, WRONG, it failed in less than two months and it worked 100% till today, Had it to long to RMA it! Looked over all the posts and did all the tricks, no hope! This is BAD! I'm so PI$$ed off right now! I got to think about this.

I have to work on this!!

you get a year at least. try contacting the store where you got it. if they won't help then you'll have to deal directly with the manufacturer. :)

Thanks for the info, I put all the clocks back to "default" speeds, this fixed it! :D
Something was overclocked to much and now that it is warmer here, the pc can't deal with it! :(
Thats liven on the edge!!!!

I like to overclock by flashing the bios, you get higher clocks and no software problems, it is more work, but I feel it is much better. :D
