So, what's been your latest network **** up?

Turns out I put the wrong box of network cable out of the electrician, so instead of pure copper core (that I can punch down into my patch panel) I've got 9 data cables of of twisted core that doesn't blinkin' make a connection when I push it into the krone!

Ugh! So yeah, my weekend will be rerunning that - good times!

Anyone else duplicating work this weekend?

I've never given someone crap cable to pull because I wouldn't ever have crap equipment to hand :p

My biggest network snafu tends to be disabling the interface that I'm connected to, kicking myself out of whatever I was working on and requiring a visit to the site to resolve.

My biggest and ongoing **** up was deciding to run all cables to my attic, I have higher walls internally than externally making a big gaping cavern in the corners, this make some very time consuming cable runs.
4 down and another 6 to go.

Mine has been not considering wifi enough. I'm now thinking a PoE WAP would be a better set up so that this and the wireless router downstairs can be positioned closer to the areas of use. Hoping to route a twisted core cable or two, to the required ceiling position on the landing which is the next floor down from the switch position. Luckily I don't have carpet down yet.

Been there done that!

Done network loops, inadvertently disconnected the whole company by disconnecting the wrong connector, that kind of thing :)

Deciding I couldn't be arsed to cut a hole in the final wall when I moved in to run ethernet.

Now it feels like it's a bit too late. I can live with WiFi in one room though, right? Right?
