Well, this is a strange one and a game based on The Unreal Engine but with a difference.... I bought this because I like something a little different now and then and I was a fan of Dear Esther, so thought I would give The Old City Leviathan a play.
The premise is not a typical game we are used to and doesn't require shooting people/things, solving puzzles or any timed button pressing, it is a walk around type of game that requires a good narration and atmospheric music to keep you enthralled. I have played for just over an hour and I am not disappointed thus far. Graphics are nothing special and you spend a good deal of time wandering around in dank corridors and dirty sewers but it is keeping me gripped. It cost me just over £8 on Steam and for the price of a Pizza, so far I am glad I bought it. Not everyone's cup of tea but if you like a change from the fast paced games and fancy a slow walkabout and explore style game, this could be for you.
The Old City Leviathan is a refreshing change from the normal type of games and not something I shy away from. The options are very limited and with a res max of 1080P and very little to alter, it is somewhat limited. Jaggies are very obvious in places but that doesn't detract from the work put in and I feel the Developers, Postmod Softworks have done a great job.
My rating (I shan't be doing a voice over review) is 7/10 and worth the small charge for it.
Anyone else got this?
