After spending a few hours doing the cheap, god damn stupid 8 bit levels on rayman, I was wondering what sections/bosses in games that you have played have also made you 'annoyed'.....For those of you that are unsure of what I'm talking about, check this video. This is just one of the 8 bit levels.

It really is a fantastic game but the 8 bit levels feel so damn cheap! I'm glad that I've finished them all and I don't have to think about snapping the disc anymore :p

Do you have to do them in one life? I thought about getting Rayman because its pretty cheap and looks decent fun but not if its too rage inducing! I tend to avoid that these days.

Yep, if you die then you have to go back to the start. They are 8 bit remakes of levels you have done previously. I think there is only around 5 of them.

The game is excellent value for money as once you've finished with the new levels you can go play the origins levels from the previous Rayman.

Ohhh those levels, even made my missus mad playing them so they must be bad.

I never really had a problem with them though.

They wasn't overly hard, they just felt cheap. You are guaranteed to die a few times just so you can learn the section of the level. The way it sometimes blurs out and you can't see what's on coming is pants. It needs more luck than skill.

Metal Gear Ray boss battle on Extreme difficulty. It's my fifth consecutive play through of MGS2 and I need to finish this one to get the Great Dane trophy. It's so frustrating though, one lapse in concentration, one mistakenly timed dodge and you're dead. To make things worse you constantly need to risk picking up extra rockets as the Rays take so much more punishment on this difficulty level and you have to kill so many of them to progress.

Ended up ragequitting and not finishing it.

I can remember screaming at my TV or PC loads as a kid, but still continuing to play on and try again.

But nothing seems to do that any more. Games have dumbed down meaning they are to easy, or they fake difficulty by just leaving the players with little idea what they should do.

The best 'hard' games are ones where you know exactly what you need to do, but its very very difficult to do it right.

The sudden and rather jarring switch from Stealth like gameplay to 'defend yourself against wave of enemies whilst waiting for something to happen' which occurs in Metro Last Light.

I was really enjoying the game up until the 'boat' level. Having to wait for that was a lesson in not destroying the controller.

Since completeing that level I have noted that I missed a chance to pickup a decent shotgun which would have made it easier (I was using the twin shot one). If anything that makes me more annoyed! :D

Thats the same as the last level in the game, it rage induced me playing it normally :p

Many, many games...

I do remember one particularly frustrating challenge on one of the old FIFA World Cup games on the 360 though, where you had to beat a certain scenario. That probably caused me to smash a pad or 2 :/

O I remember that one. the things we do just to get an achievement :p

Can't remember any game specifically but I've played lots of games with rage inducing boss fights.
Ones where they have a move that can fully restore all their health, or will instantly kill you no matter how much health you have. The second thing is usually combined with a boss that has multiple "stages" and it's always in the last stage where it has an insta-kill move so you have to restart the entire thing if it hits you
