I wouldn't bother with the 4 core bulldozer, it is utter crap!

The 955 out performs it in some tests and is as good for overclocking. Or even the X6 1100T is better!

Keep the AM3+ mobo so when AMD brings out a good processor for AM3+ you can get one then.

For a budget AMD rig, the 955 is the best option... overclocking to 4ghz and very fast.

Only thing missing is a GPU, around the 6850/6870 or GTX560 (NOT Ti VERSION) is what you will get great performance with the 955 for around an extra £150 MAX!

I had opted for the 6870 although forgot to put it in the basket - swapped out the bulldozer for the 955, apart from that all good?

Dont need the sound card. more money now free for something else.

Get a 990X board so it does symmetrical crossfire/sli.

A retail Blu-ray drive so you get playback software.

good choice, im getting the 6870 in january to replace my trusty 5770 to run along side (my very much budget) athlon x4 640 xD lol

erm, I would also opt for the gelid tranquillo... better cooling than the a50

good spec, but

8gb ram not needed for gaming

that 6870 is too much for what the card is, you can get one for £130 now

blue ray player not needed, too much money and depends on his monitor

and the total is too much money for a budget rig! the 955 is perfectly good for gaming...

try re-reading the op, he decided on the his 6870 so add the £150 to the total he has in the screen shot which comes to ~£687 which is only £5 less than my spec.

so all I did was take his spec changed to sb, case, retail blueray. op chose blueray, 8gb ram and the 6870 so have a go at him not me ;)

you maybe able to get a 6870 for £130 but not here, unless the place has free shipping it'll end up costing like £140 so may as well get it from one place. I would prob go for the sapphire 6870 £150 as its in stock or maybe go for the asus 560ti directcuii £162.
