Mine is a CABGE 0536 VPAW... not the best OC'ers by all accounts... need a lot of voltage... I can but hope... think i'm in for a dissappointment.

Hades I think your Gigabyte may be stopping you from üppushing it too much there mate. Gigabyte are rock solid, but not known for giving you barely any Vdimm, or reaching high HTT's.
As for the mixing of the memory for 2GB I would forget that... it
's probably a losing battle... maybe think about selling it all and buying 2GB (2x 1GB sticks) of decent, relatively low latency stuff that will let you divider away happily.
And yeah... 2.6Ghz is still nothing to sniff at... but at least you can be a bit sure there's more left in it.

lol I wish i'd ordered early enough to get one from there, I was just too late on the bandwagon, and by the time i'd got my peach posterior into gear it was backorder city.
Oh well... i consider the CABGE a CHALLENGE... and i'm going to do my utmost to get the best out of it! At least there's not going to be a single component holding me back, so i know whatever max I hit is the limit.

No I mean that by the time I got around to buying a CPU there were none left in stock in the UK and I didnt wish to wait for a backorder, so i bought a cabbage (CABGE) instead that should arrive tommorrow.
If I had waited I would have undoubtedly got a better stepping... I just needed it all for this week.

The FACT is, OCUK are NOT supplying the opterons, and there are a TON of people here who need to buy one and are having real trouble finding one.
With this in mind, and considering that we are not taking any sales from off of OCUK as obviously thay are not stocking them... how will the thread be closed?
if it was any product OCUK stocked and sold then I would not breathe a word of it... but unless the odd person asks for an email, how are we supposed to communicate without doing it openly accross the forums? Should people have to suffer not getting the CPU they are desperate for because they can't find a 939 opteron and no-one is allowed to tell them where to get one?
It's silly... and I repeat no-one is asking for informnation on a product OCUk is selling, and no-one has provided any links in any post!
I give my money to OCUK too (spent 300 quid this week) so im not going to try and take away their sales... this is concerning a product THEY DO NOT SELL and people are desperate for!
Seeing as I have bought most of my gear bar the CPU they do not stock FROM OCUK... surely they can cut us a little slack in finding the processor we want to go with our stuff?

Ok then, for the sake of posterity please no-one post anything else about help sourcing the CPU's, you'll just have to struggle i'm afraid if you can't find one. Keep it to overclocking results and tips.
