The original Unreal game

Hey,

Anyone played this recently?
I remember being blown away by it when I first played it around 10 years ago.
Dont think I ever actually finished it though.

I just checked out some gameplay videos on youtube, and even though the textures are obviously well out of date, it still looks like it has great atmosphere.

Why cant new games capture this anymore? Maybe the graphics are too realistic? Or the worlds are too open?

Hi,

Ok - So I installed it, and would like to patch up to see it with the updated renderer.

After I copied the files from his .zip into the unreal\system directory, I get an error from the advanced options in the game about d3dx10_43.dll being missing.

I guess this is something to do with directx.
What I dont get is though - my PC must have directx11 on it already. For playing metro2033 etc. How come unreal and this renderer is out of date?

Should I just install directx from the link in the guys website?
Or will it break my other games?

Yey. Thanks - it's working.

And its brilliant.
Best game I've played in ages. I'm glad I've forgotten it - so its like playing it for the first time all over again.
