Did the oven trick to my 8800GTX over a year ago when it started giving me loads of artifacts on my screen as soon as the POST screen came up and in Windows desktop, and 10 mins in my oven at 200c (the oven we all eat out of), and then left the card for an hour, installed it back in to my missus' rig and it worked perfectly, no more artifacting at all, and it's still going strong today.
Though watch with Xbox360s, I told my mate to bake his xbox mobo as he was getting RROD, but they dont have solid state caps, so after ten minutes he went to remove the board, and all the caps had swollen up and burst!!!
But it 100% worked with my 8800GTX, I thought the card was bricked, but someone mentioned this method, and the card was out of warranty anyway so I had nothing to lose from trying it, thankfully it worked like a charm.
