I don't have any card at the minute, but yes it clocked well, about 1520-1530/2100.

I have a mental hard limit that baulks at paying over £450 for a GPU, even if I can afford it. I think a used 1080 is probably my best option when they drop to this, until then I'll just be without

Generally doesn't accomplish much but upto 1.09v is safe, if you have one of the cards that can do 1.2v it isn't known if its long term safe or not.

i have done some quick oc on my g1 and i can get to +140 on core and +350 on mem stable on haven bench, stock gives me 2420 oc gives me 2626 points. using the standard ocuk settings
Render: Direct3D11
Mode: 1920x1080 8xAA fullscreen
Preset Custom
Quality Ultra
Tessellation: Extreme

I think that not too bad no ?

What boost clock does +140 give you? Bit hard to tell what speed it's actually at just stating the offset you have set due to the way these cards boost.

2100 core clock and 2176 mem clock, is that any good ?

edit it stepped down to 2088, temps 62 degrees.

Yeah thats Average to good. Some get a little higher and settle around 2120-2130 once up to temperature. You might have some more headroom in your RAM speed but wont make a massive difference to FPS.

Have you got GPU-z so you can see the make of your RAM? lots like mine have Micron memory now which dont seem to hit the really high clocks like some Samsung chips did on the earlier cards.

It is micron, and in all honesty I might just settle for no OC at all...no need I guess, maybe when I get the 1440p gsync then I might try to push it bit further.It was first time i was doing OC

Yeah it's fine, if I can push it too the max with the Evga Fire For The Win then it'll be fine.

Yeah cheeky buggars, last time I'll be buying from Evga, they could at least pay for return delivery and fit the thermal pads for me.

They pretty much all drop to 202xMHz due to power limit at some point unless you have some kind of extreme setup/custom vbios, I can mostly hold 2100MHz with a tiny voltage bump on the right bins.

So would you say its pointless putting a 1070 under water then?

I am about to buy a 1070 (stuck between a EVGA FTW or a Zotac AMP / FE) but don't know if to get a FE and just add to my current loop?

I think so (if it's a custom cooler).

Reading up on the MSI Gaming, it seems to be virtually quiet.

Have you considered the MSI Quicksilver? Looks good to me.
