I have the Gainward, it's really nice. Huge heatsink, nice backplate and doesn't look too bad when you change the LED colour.
I like the fan range too, I have it idling at 500rpm![]()
Edging towards getting a Palit 1070 as heard good things.
Quick question though, there seems to be a two versions. The GameRock Premium and just a standard GameRock GPU. What is the difference? Thanks.
Got my Zotac AMP 1070 earlier in the week and have been playing about with it.
I absolutely love it, it's a huge upgrade from my Radeon HD 6950.
Now if only I had enough cash for a VR headset

The blue bit feels to be thin painted steel. Its screwed onto the main white shroud. The white overall part is hardened plastic. Its pretty solid and not as flimsy as some card shrouds I've had.

One thing to bare in mind is that there is only about 25% left of the aluminium heatsink under the shroud. 75% of the heatsink width is visible and there is a big cut out area in the middle. So not quite as much more metal as I'd hoped than a standard 2 slot width card [the gamerock is 2.5 width, not 3 as listed on the sales page].
The Hexus review has some good pictures and better colour accuracy.
The difference is negligible, the premium version is likely to clock a tiny bit higher (they do select chips for each tier of their cards).
Anyway price/performance is the best 1070 available - although having the RMA in Hong Kong means you want to be a positive person
That said in 15 years and over 25 different GPUs only one ever needed to go back.
So it's not worth the extra 20 quid?

Isn't the difference £10 ?
I think it is worth the extra £10 for the slightly higher default clocks, but it won't make much of a real world difference to perforrmance.
My Gamerock Premium is @~2000Mhz when gaming (default settings). Manually overclocks to ~2100/9300.

Seems like Palit and Gainward have really nailed it with pascal. Big beefy coolers doing a great job at staying cool and quiet as well as binned chips in the Premium and GLH models topping the overclocks! All this at good value prices too compared to the other brands.
Is the Premium the same as the Premier listed elsewhere?
I've read that the Game-Rock Premier has binned chips but not sure if there is an error with naming or the premier and premium is the same![]()
