The Pascal GTX 1070 Owners Thread

Noticed you have the MSI gaming X - have one on preorder elsewhere, supposed to be in stock today but delayed until the end of the month...not sure whether to go for the palit (cheaper than the MSI and I absolutely refuse to pay ocuk's price for it!)

I am in the exact same dilemma , tempted by zotac amp extreme but the backplate puts me off

The Gaming X is a very nice card, but certainly not worth the current price being asked for it here at least. I had Palit's 980 Ti, which used the same cooler with a different shroud, and it was every bit as good. The only real area that Palit don't match up in is warranty, since they only offer two years versus three from MSI (or five from Zotac). Hopefully that's something they'll improve on in the future. Sapphire just added an extra year to their warranty on the AMD side.

Just noticed there's a palit jet stream and palit super jetstream - is there really going to be any difference between them?
Nothing that's going to be noticable really. They're the exact same card apart from out of the box clocks, and all 1070s overclock to around the same level.

What warranty do you get with Gigabyte cards, sorely tempted.

I think it's 3 years plus one extra year if you register on their website within a certain window. Worth double checking. That being said, I read a lot about cards with bent fins so might want to make sure, that's the brand you want

Further testing out the Gigabyte 1070 Windforce 2X OC model (delayed further testing due to motherboard bois issue). Manual OC i can get 2105 absolutely stable during heaven and a good gaming session on Doom and Ashes Of Singularity. memory seems fine with a +450 so looks like i got a right result and as well as no fan at idle and max temps of 64 and zero coil whine.

The GTX1070 is in a Define R5 (top closed) 3 x 140 fans and a DH15 on the 4770k @4.4 with 750w corsair psu and 16 gig Hyper X ram, Fast 480 SSD and a 2TB spinner. Ambient room temp is a warm 26.5 so im well chuffed all round.

Update. Users who require backplate and flashing led lights go elsewhere.

Tempted to order the Palit jetstream - it doesn't look blingy like the other Palits.

How quiet is the jetstream? Any coil whine?

Does anyone know if there's any real difference between this and the other Palit cards? I'm getting confused as there's a huge variety of prices, yet from everything I've read performance is pretty much the same across the board?

Pailt Jetstream have one of the coolest and quietest coolers plus no fans spinning when idling.

Ive gone for the jetstream and it is superb. Massive cooler. Fans are of until you start pushing things so its whisper quiet. no coil whine on mine. Very happy so far

One thing I have noticed my card doing is revving or pulsing. The fans are off then turn off then turn on and it keeps revving/pulsing like this. Clearly BF4 is not getting it warm enough to keep them on which is a bit strange and annoying

I noticed this too. I ended up making a custom fan curve so the fans stay on.
