Those benchmarks look promising. It's close to base 1080 performance when OC'd too.

Those custom 1070s look nice but if they come in at £400 - well there could be basic open cooler 1080s at around £550 - and the gap between 1080 and my 970 is a lot wider than changing to a 1070 - and also will new purchases will see the benefit over a £200 480?

I think my mind is made up for the 1070. My build is awaiting a GPU and was just about to get the 980. So im waiting for this release. Still at the end of this month?

I hope that the board partner cards are slightly cheaper to be honest. A 980ti will look very good under £300

That's about £365 for the reference then. I'm presuming the additional £25-30 will be tacked on by retailers? Since we've already heard it's meant to be £400

Yeah, that's low volume channel pricing, so expect web retailers to be £399+
£365 probably means £379 retail? Well not accounting for **** taking with limited stock markups.
Pretty good considering the basic coolers should be less than that - probably £349 or lower. Should be able to get a decent EVGA SC/FTW level custom card at <£400
Some of the less expensive custom 1080s like the inno3d at £550 are tempting too though, and they'll probably settle into £525 after demand calms down..

Without trawling through the whole thread when will the 1070 be available to buy and will it be worth changing from my 390?

Since you have a freesync monitor it may be worth waiting until the end of the year for 'Vega, but if your 390 isn't enough then the 1070 would be a good upgrade, but you wont be able to use Freesync
Really liking the look of the inno3d x3 ichill , for me it's the nicest looking design.
What is inno3d like regarding reliability and warranty?
Or would I be better going with evga SC (only has a 8 pin power connector) or MSI gaming (8+6 pin power)?
