Superb GPU mine arrived today :eek:

Even @ 4K everything maxxed out this GPU seems to cope very well and in silence so far. Only downside is the MSI Gaming App is very buggy & hung windows. You can only change the MSI logo LED on the card the other LEDs are stuck on Red & not colour editable you can add an animation cycle though.

Have you done any overclocking, I see you are rocking the Micron memory...

Nah its enough for me its oced out the box anyway and keeping up with games @4K pointless to push it further when it can handle everything I play just fine!

Jeez there's the silicon lottery winners and the silicon lottery nappy content that I have. Haha. Most mine can take is +66 on the base clock and +420 memory clock, Heaven gives me almost 2600.

Anyone else finding Precision X to be more stable than MSI Afterburner? It's usually the other way around but I couldn't get any where near the same clocks when I tried with MSI.

I did try PrecisionX after I had read this, but I wasn't able to get anything more out of my 1070 compared to AB, so I just went back to it.

What boost clocks are you getting? Some have more headroom than other so I wouldn't be too fussed

the FTW has one of the higher out of the box frequencies anyway.

After playing with my Gaming X for a while I fancy trying something like a Zotac AMP Extreme just for comparison but I can't really justify the cost

Anyone want to do a straight swap?!

The AMP Extreme is a beast and it looks to be the coolest running card of the lot, and looking at that heatsink you'd hope so!

My Micro ATX case and desire for the quietest possible system means I probably would be better served with one rather than the Gaming X. I like to keep the GPU fans at no more than 60% which causes a bit of boost lowering once the cards heated up fully

like I say it would be interesting to see what the AMP Extreme is like for noise and temps in the same situation.

My AMP Extreme fans are off unless I game, and when I do it never really exceeds 35-36% fan speed which is around 1000rpm or a little over that. At that speed I barely hear it over my 200mm case fans which are set to very low RPM. My external HDD is noisier than my whole PC when I turn it. lol

Got my 1070 ftw yesterday, Not a super clocker boosts to 2000 out of the box in timespy. (quick o/c core seems to be happy at 2063 over that driver crash's) On the plus side its has samsung memory and no coil wine so happy enough with it
Will say vs my old gtx 780 is a much cooler running card

got my second 1070 the other day,but now waiting on a hb sli bridge so had to resort to 2 bands

as i forgot to order one with my card as wasnt sure on the gap size

My EVGA 1070 SC has just arrived. Upgrading from a 970 so pretty excited to see the 1070 in action this evening.
