One of my cards hit the dirt :o

Just popped it off to post office. In a round about way, hopefully one I get back is a good chip. Thankfully good one is fine and manages 2150 mhz in games no issue, now just need a second :p

Having said that going back to just playing with a single card, does show how poor SLI seems to have scaled for Witcher 3 me thinks! Down from 2 cards @ 2000 Mhz running at 85 fps maxed to 65 fps in same locations @ 2150 mhz. Not too bad for a single card

Woah :o, hope mine last longer.

Witcher 3 can be a bit wonky. Mine did used to run 70-80% load on each GPU. Different inspector profile now get 95-99% on both GPU's and far more fps. I'll see how much I'm getting with a single card and SLI and compare for you.

Yeah :( Powering on PC and GPU LED debug light light on MOBO was lit and no monitor output. Tried one card at a time and one of them would not work no matter what while the other was fine.

Plugged it in as a second card was not showing up in the BIOS nor was the LED lighting up, so thinking its dead

Either way, got RMA and already on its way back to e-tailor with postage paid so not too bad, in line for thier next batch to arrive next few days so hopefully by Friday should have a replacement :)

Seriously getting bored waiting for the FC cards from EVGA... 17th is having a laugh... freebees to streamers but paying customers have to wait! :(

me and you both mate, 17th apparently on the website, but god knows at the moment... disappointed with nVidia's supply chain on this one, considering the hype before launch I have paid for 2 cards that I cannot use yet...

So annoyed.

You going 1080 sli?

I have swapped out my FTW for the G1 Gaming, which will be with me tomorrow. I was nice and early with the order, so should put people up on the ordering of that card :)

G1 gaming. Nice. Will be great to see how aftermarket cards perform. I gather that one has a custom pcb so I think you may be the first one with custom :D

Ok ok, I'm thinking of caving and getting a 1080, I played with the idea of going TX SLI as the performance increase of a TX @ 1500mhz to a 1080 @ 2100mhz is only 12% (worked out from user benchmarks). But I'm going to stick with what I've always said and that's the single most power card is the best solution.

Having said that the change will only be for BF1, which I'm betting will be a DX12 game this time round, and surely this card will hit more than 12% over a TX in DX12???

End of the day if I get 80FPS in BF1 instead of 70FPS I'd have got over my TX it's costing me nothing by the time I've sold my TX Hybrid cooler and backplate to upgrade to a 1080 so surely it's worth the gain.

Now which 1080, I'm not in a rush but would like new and shiney, I like EVGA due to their English depot, so FTW Classy or Hybrid again.

I doubt in a blind test you would be able to tell the difference tbh...

Probably not no, anything over 60 won't make much of a difference, but I'm also thinking of the low FPS, 40FPS is where g-sync starts to struggle and I can see my TX dropping that low tbh, so again another 10fps there will make the world of difference.

Hmm, pretty unlucky. Stock voltage?

Oh, aren't these cards readily available?

I just dropped in from the Polaris forums to see what the fuss was about because DP and the other usual suspects were all over AMD about not releasing specs until the NDA expired on the 480.

Seems to be that the 1080 is really, really limited in availability. Do you think that it was a pre-emptive launch to steal some thunder?

Thoughts?
