The Pascal GTX 1080 Owners Thread

So the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1080.

After a bit of playing and a slight increase in fan profile I got 2050 Mhz stable
+80 Memory (haven't found the memory limit yet).

Note I'm on Win 7, with only 4.2 Ghz i7 2600K, lost my 4.5 Ghz to battery change, will fix at some point.

So this will probably be one of the slowest benchmarks of GTX 1080 here due to the 4 year old CPU, I doubt many 1080 will have older CPUs, maybe some i5 2500K, anyone with slower CPUs shouldn't really be running one of these. :P

I'll probably stick to 2025 Mhz with the default fan profile for normal use as the fan only hit's 1800 rpm and is barely audible from my case.

Summary Fire Strike Extreme:

2,050 Mhz +80 Mem, i7 2600K @ 4.2Ghz, Win 7 = 9615
1,860 Mhz (Stock OC) i7 2600K @ 4.2Ghz, Win 7 = 9380
1,860 Mhz (Stock OC) i5-6400 @ Stock, Win 7 = 8851 (test at work)

I had no problem with the PCIe 2.0, I didn't need to upgrade bios. I guess there is a small potential performance loss with this too.

Both my 1080's under water :)

Together they are running happily at 2102mhz with memory at 11ghz. Seperate they both run at about 2132mhz.

2.1ghz is absolutely fine for me. Temps are low 40s at max. Also happy with this considering its about 30c in here at the minute. Lovely day today hense the late photo, Barbeque and ice cold beer's, nothing better :D

Very nice, envious of those temps!

thx

It says -102c in EVGA precision so its on LN2 :p

Kingpin. Dayum whats they going to cost £1000+?

Kaap! how many are you buying :p

Going by the 980 Ti price the top ASIC Kingpin 1080s will not give much change out of £1000.

If anyone wants a really good air cooled card the Kingpin is as good as it gets.

They are not bad on LN2 either.

Thank you, this is what i have been waiting for. But again, where are the 980 SLI comparisons?! They have been added to a very small amount of benchmarks and then dont even mention them in many of the others. It is like that setup is purposely being avoided.

There are plenty of such comparisons around YouTube, no need to repeat the suspicions ha ha

It's faster in some games and in others it's not. Sorted :)
