On the psu?, yeah it's a shame they don't do it on the newer ones, they look cheaper and this stuff is nearly impossible to leave any scratch marks on.

BTW guys what are the quietest 1080tis ?

I have a Asus GTX 670 DirectCU II OC, 28 which has been incredibly good at staying quiet. Are the 1080tis as quiet or dare I say quieter?

Very doubtful as they're probably about 5-6 times more powerful. You'll have to compare the 670 to the 1070 instead of going up 2 more tiers (which is frankly unreasonable).

Not extensions, they are full psu cables i bought for this specific psu, i was talking about the finish on the psu.

You'd be surprised actually. ASUS strix or zotac amp extreme are quietest. I used to have that very card and I am massively impressed with the power/noise on the strix.

Aorus with its triple 100mm fans or MSI who tend to have the best default fan curve out the box

Does anyone know if zotac has "warranty void" stickers on their cards ? So you cant remove the cooler without voiding your warranty, last card I had with those stickers was MSI 1080Ti

Not sure about this generation of cards but my 980ti AMP didn't have them.

Mine didn't (AMP Extreme) but I think they go on the screws now.

They mark quite easily and can tell if a card has been apart or not.

Quick question for any MSI 1080ti owners- do you actually have to register the warranty? I tried online, but it's talking about it being for motherboards and getting special registration bonuses, while specifically saying it's not for GPUs. Can you confirm I'll be fine with just the serial number and receipt?

God damn £700 + tho!

I was hoping they'd be around £600ish for a quietish card.

Can't see a price drop happening with AMD. This gen the smart decision seems to have been to just buy at launch.

I suspect they are so close they are all in the same range of error and variation.

For comparison I don't think my Aorus is any louder than my old Gigabyte windforce GTX 670 which was a very quiet 670.

That's a bit of a meaningless comparison because it doesn't account for temperature. One could be 39dB running at 80c and another at 60.

When you normalise for cooling performance (noise levels needed to maintain a given temperature) the strix pulls out big time. As I understand it the zotac too. Gamers nexus have the test.

I have the strix and it is awesome! That been said I doubt you can go wrong with any of the mid-top cards, just pick the one you like the look of the most.

Your brain learns to not focus on certain noises, so a PC fan at the same level may seem louder than the background noise.

Conversational speech is 60 dBA

My PC on on all the time, I actually find it harder to sleep with it off, it's too quiet.

Every 10 dBA is double the noise.

remember decibels is NOT linear. 40 db is similar to a stream an average living room should be around 60 which is closer to a loud conversation (tv volume) 30 decibels is about whispering level
