I broke down and ordered the OcUK value founders model this afternoon. Not in stock right now, but hopefully next week I guess?

I might try to fit one of the EVGA hybrid coolers from my 980s on it.

Is the Voltage Slider and readout not available for you guys using Afterburner?
This is for information purposes only and I do not take any responsibility
Thanks to Guru 3D (http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_1080_ti_review,32.html):
Use any tweaking utility of your preference of course. We use AB, AfterBurner. If you cannot wait for a new AB reelase and need some voltage control, here's a tip:

Add the card to third party database yourself (edit MSIAfterburner.oem2 included in the last official build) then select third party voltage control mode in properties and adding the following will do the trick.

[VEN_10DE&DEV_1B06&SUBSYS_120F10DE&REV_??]
VDDC_Generic_Detection = 1
Our applied tweak:

  • Core Voltage : +50
  • Power Limit : 120%
  • Temp. limit : 90C
  • Core Clock : + 150
  • Memory Clock : +500 MHz (=11.1 GHz effective data-rate)
  • FAN RPM: 65%
Once overclocked keep this in mind: Due to the dynamic nature of the boost clock, your frequency is not fixed. Limiters and monitors, temperature, load, power and voltages will continuously alter a maximum clock state. The biggest limiter for the 1080 Ti FE would be temperature, once we increased that limiter to 90 Degrees C, the boost clock would go up fast (but at the cost of noise of course). The card is begging to be liquid cooled alright hence we increased fan RPM to 65%.

This card now boosts to just over the 2 GHz marker with the memory at 1.2 Ghz.

Ran a few 3dMarks to measure the increase from my old 980 Ti SC. For these the 1080 Ti is at stock settings. The 980 Ti SC had a small factory overclock. Everything else is the same, except the drivers are slightly newer on the 1080 Ti.

3DMark 11 Extreme +52.8%
Fire Strike Extreme +57.8%
Fire Strike Ultra +57.1%
Time Spy +62%

Max Boost 1885
Max Temp 81
Max Fan 47% (auto)

I then went for a 2 GHz overclocked run on Time Spy.
Time Spy +72.6%
Max Clock 2038
Max Temp 87
Max Fan 55% (auto)

Nice boost in performance.

I have joined!

Disappointed with the amount of thermal throttling. Was expecting some but not as severe as it is! Would've thought Nvidia would have put a better cooler of their high-end cards. Lucky is going under water as soon as I get a block really!

How are the FE coolers? I have a GTX1080 right now and a Micro ITX system, is the Ti much longer than a standard 1080?
