Well looks like amazon were hood winked someone maybe returned a 1080 in a 1080ti box and I've bought it!

This is what my system is showing, I'm raging!

Surprising Amazon didnt notice that, i just returned a faulty 1080ti Strix to them and had the box for my new one from OCUK, was being really careful to make sure i even returned all the correct bits that came with it and the right box with all the matching serial numbers.
Don't know why i bothered now haha.

I ended up buying an EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 instead of an Asus Strix model. I felt the aesthetics looked better and it was £15 cheaper. I'm very pleased with it so far :cool:

. You cant make out the TI part on it as its covered by power cables

Delicious cable management there mate, i was considering the EVGA variant, ended up getting the STRIX as when i bought it, it was slightly cheaper.

. I can’t take too much credit though as the cable management was easy with the E22 slot cable combs that OCUK sell. Yeah it was a tossup between the STRIX and the FTW 3 for me. But the lights on the side of the EVGA won it. Both lovely cards though!

Main reason i went with the Strix was the aura sync and how you can attach two fans to it to only work when the GPU is working, thought that was handy

One of my reasons, although the fan headers leave my front intake fans off.. Kind of weird i dont know why it doesn't recognise them, in GPU tweak it registers no external fans.. I wouldn't mind but they are my CPU rad fans.

Strange problem lol.
I've just got my bottom intake plugged into the card, then when it needs it cold air comes straight in the bottom at the card, was tempted to put my single rear exhaust on it but cant be arsed to run cables

Aye its a pain in the arse, i'm not too fussed though i don't have a huge case.

Ignore the poor RGB wiring, i'm yet to find an elegant solution.

I got a bitfenix alchemy 60cm rgb led strip with my replacement 1080ti, so using the rgb header on the end of the card and having the strip run round the case is a nightmare.
Might pick a second one up and daisy chair it to the first.

I've seen this happen all too often, a couple of users have been caught out with 7980XE where some thief has sent back a lower core SKU in the box.

Amazon need to deal with these issues no matter how much they expand.
