Replacement card from EVGA has arrived and it too has coil whine, I've tried it in two different pc's and the result is the same. Gotta say pretty disappointing.

Have you tried another power supply?
On another note - Watercooled my new 1080ti over the weekend and the hex bolts they used are really nasty, although thankfully they use the same thread as the EK blocks so i reused the backplate which was a bonus.

4mm socket is a good thing to have for them bolts.

Yeah i have one, had to dig a fair while through my tool box to find it though!

Yeah tried it in my 2nd pc and the same thing. PSU is a Corsair RM1000i (1000w) and main pc has an EVGA P2 1000w.

Ok, ignore me and my big mouth... Step up has just been authorised so card should be with me soon.
EVGA must be due to up the stock levels if they're authorising step ups.

well rest of bits are here, gonna be fun building tomorrow night!, already have a 360 rad so this will be second, 2 should be enough for a 5960x and 1080ti
I don't have the time and patience to go for a full Water-loop so the Hydro Cooler Cards are must buy for me.
I had the GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid, and temps where under 50c maxed out on Crysis 3. The noise level was so quiet as well.
I got a feeling June/July will be the easiest we see the GTX 1080 Ti MSI Seahawk X, EVGA FTW Hybrid

Yea i just orderd a 54 bit set with all the hex and torx screw bits. Fed up of never having them at hand when i need em.
Guna be putting mine under water soon. Still in two minds about shunt mod. Might do a quick dirty overclock with fan running at 100% and run witcher 3 maxed out to see if i get bad power limit throttling. Then decide.
