The Pascal GTX 1080 Ti Owners Thread

Aorus is the best gpu I have ever owned in terms of temps and noise, a few other cards will be about the same but I seriously doubt any card will comprehensively beat it in these areas. I'm stunned how quiet and cool it is.

Guys just found out temps for :
Inno3d 3x fans is 72c
ZOTAC Extreme : 69-70c
ASUS STRIX 68c

And are there any differenceees between Aorus Extreme and standard Aorus? Because that is £40 difference. If its just Base clock speeds I dont care since I'm overclocking myself

One review I read says the Aorus and the extreme have the same cooler, I definitely wouldn't go for the extreme variant.

You still get 2 x 8 pins on the standard as well

Apart from the extra year warranty on the Xtreme/higher clocks there are slight aesthetic differences.

I'm not sure if the Aorus emblem lights up on the normal Aorus, but the larger emblem on the Xtreme backplate is RGB.

The power does not increase ability to overclock more, and it runs unstable after 130% so meh not big deal

Yes it does because if you have been keeping clued up you hit the power limit wall quite quickly in demanding games. You see it hit the power limit at 2Ghz and over. ive seen my FE card throttle down from 2076 down to 2024 and even in a few instances 1998Mhz because of hitting the power limit. However it does jump back up once back under the power limit. increasing the power limit to something around 150% would remove any power throttling and then you would just have to deal with temp throttling. It could also help get towards a stable 2100 core clock if you increase the voltage.

What would be the best Air Cooled 1080 TI? I have found MSI Gaming X for £750 and ZOTAC AMP EXTREME/AORUS for £800? Zotac seems to be the biggest which I like, could anyone suggest ?

the top 3 air cooled cards for noise and temps are expected to be:

1. Ichill x3
2. msi gaming x
3. zotac amp xtreme

in that order.

Personally I waited for reviews before buying, reading the reviews put me off the Ichill x3. Not that it's a bad card just that it seemed noisier than the strix (and I'm not talking about that one review that got a duff card)
