My card just hit 90C playing PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and the fan hit 4000rpm.
Thinking I probably should have gone for a custom cooler now...

The Strix cooler is awesome, dude. Not seen over 65c underload. It is however on the large side!

OK so I found some time tonight to install my Gigabyte Aorus Xtreme Gaming 1080Ti - THIS THING IS A TOTAL BEAST!!!! Just played appx 1 hour of GTA V @ 4K resolution on my Acer XB280HK monitor. GPU didn't go above 56degs, fans are REALLY quiet which surprised me, and getting a very steady and consistent 60fps. Its not much bigger than my Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming GTX980Ti. This 1080TI is a beast of a card, over the moon with it.

Doesn't sound normal. Shouldn't the card downclock at 85 degrees?

Just put the Aorus Xtreme in, picked it up for ~£809 and initial impressions are excellent. Pushed the power limit slider to the max and it boosts to 2025Mhz out of the box without enabling any OC modes. To be fair, the power limit has not gone over 98% on GPU-Z because the default TDP is 300w.

Pleasantly suprised how cool and quiet it is under load. Gigabyte have outdone themselves with this beast.

The Aorus logo on my Xtreme backplate is cycling through the RGB colours like the other's. The standard Aorus doesn't have a RGB Aorus logo on the backplate.

Received the MSI Gaming X today and looks an absolute fantastic card. Well presented in the box and very clean looking card. Black thermal pads so everything looks as it should be. One of the thing (no offence to owners) that put me off was the obvious grey pads on the Gigabyte Aorus. But blends in well on this card.

Overall very impressed with the card, will give my further opinion tonight once I get it in as new case and other parts have arrived to finish my build off. Got some work to do until then so hopefully in by tonight.

If Kaap you can add me to the TROH and remove my original as will be selling my ref EVGA 1080Ti's shortly. Thanks

I picked up a palit reference ti last week. Straight up to 2ghz core and +450 on mem. Temps all great!

Had to treat myself to a 2k 144hz screen to go with it. Rude not to.

So are you removing all blocks are putting original cooler back on, or building another system??
