The Pascal GTX 1080 Ti Owners Thread

K thanks, i know ambient temps have risen, but card seems to be running hotter and hotter, was wondering if i had pushed it too much benching (was running at 2164 but could not add much to mem before instability) or the card might be warping from block - pcb looks like it's got a bit of a curve going on or that the pump might be failing. From previous cards just seems to be running really hot specially when you consider my 295, basically two 290x, generated about the same heat. But sounds like normal then, will just keep an eye on it.

2164! bloody hell, not even tried going that far! but yeah, idle is 23c and on load at about 95% its 49c. This is with a EK waterblock. For my ryzen build im going to try the hybrid AIO. Was using the founders edition and it was at 80c and sounded like my cleaner was hovering. still doesnt actually bother me to much :p

2164 is probably one in a thousand card for sure.

Even under water 2050-2063 was about my max with both my ref cards. Even my 1080's would only do 2101.

There is normally a natural curve on EK blocks so unless it's seriously warped it should be fine.

Only time I had temp issues was when one of my rads blocked up. Tried increasing pump speed to max during benching?

Not really- only good for superposition benchmark and can't really alter mem so score wasn't brilliant. While stable in superposition pretty much, games would just throttle. Chip might be good but just power starved.

Also good to know that a slight curve is normal. Cant reach my D5 speed control unfortunately as at sits directly above psu. Doing a new case build soon (going hardline) - so will have a play, thinking of 2 pumps in series (got a spare) as both pumps are at least 2 years old know and would like a redundancy.

Lol royster- fair play for putting up with that, I debate sticking the original cooler back on in winter for the extra heat, gets cold in this room:D

Not seen anyone anywhere with stable 2164 clocks so it certainly is rare. But yes the FE board is a bit lacking on its power delivery.

When I had a FE I noticed the throttling too. One reason I went with a custom board afterwards.

Don't blame you, this was my first FE, think I will be waiting for custom boards and blocks in the future - If I wasn't so lazy and had the cash to get another card first before selling this one, I would do the same.

So far it has been great apart from the rather annoying fans revving to 100% every couple of mins for no good reason.

So far I've not really had the card breaking sweat apart from a quick run on the Timespy benchmark. That got it boosting to 1987Mhz max and stabilised at 1965Mhz with the out of the box clocks. It hit max temp of ~65C using a custom fan profile running the fans at 50% which I couldn't really hear over my case fans. Overall I'm really pleased and impressed! Just want to sort this annoying fan revving out!

I hope you don't have to wait too long. I pre-ordered on 10th of March so I've been waiting a good while!!

I have no idea why your fans are revving every 2 mins, it has never done this once on mine since I first installed mine 2 weeks ago, check for gpu usage spikes with aida or afterburner or something.
