Your better off keeping it on air or waiting a few weeks for custom blocks.

I'm almost positive I'm going to sell my ref Ti's and get a single custom card and block in a few weeks.

In SLI clocks don't take a hit.
Cost really and SLI is never going to be without its issues and at the minute(starting to think it's not worth it). I'm quite happy with single card performance too.

Will have to see over the next few weeks I change my mind so much

Possibly one of the worst 1080ti's on the market. The cooler is inadequate it and gets loud. I'm coping though. Blehhh.

Doesn't even have a backplate...

Yeah I was a little concerned when I saw they recycled the 1080 cooler. I mentioned to @Gregster to be wary as I don't think its good enough to cope with the increased power consumption on the big chip, so I'm glad he got an awesome MSI Gaming X with great temps.

The Gigabyte Aorus, Zotac Amp Extreme and MSI Gaming X are not bulky just for show, these beastly coolers are necessary to tame the 1080Ti while still being quiet at load.

Yer and truthfully, you had me thinking about it. The G1 cooler on the 1080 did a great job but being the bigger chip, you did bring it to my attention and the end result for me was the best move and it was cheaper than the G1 (by £20) so a win win for me

I see, I can understand just going for a single card but to sell both blocked 1080ti's and then buy a custom 1080ti to put on water again seems like a strange move?

Nice one, thanks buddy. So much prefer this then the Asus tweak 2. The problem with the current version on AB is that you can't unlock the voltage on the TI

Azaz - do a quick google, doing the voltage unlock is fairly easy for the founders ti in afterburner don't know if it works on the custom cards. Just a word of warning though, you will need to use a custom voltage curve, the old 'whack it up to maximum and see what sticks' days are over.

Oops, that's all I've been doing, voltage limited unless I go to 100 for anywhere in the 2 - 2.1 ghz. Am I likely to do damage then?

no more damage than usual, you will just get higher clocks if you use a curve. If you see peeps clocking at 2123 or higher on a 1080ti they are almost certainly using a curve (or hard-mods).

Thanks, will look into then, should prove interesting as benchmarking (in superposition) I can hit a pretty stable 2126.

Although that is at 1080

What clocks are you getting on stock voltage, I've yet to try messing with extra voltage but can get 2088mhz the core and 12400mhz on the memory. I might get a bit more on the memory as I just stopped pushing at +700.

Not sure, all I can remember was hitting voltage limit pretty much straight away, although I could increase clocks they were all over the place so only had standard voltage for a few days at most (FE).

Voltage at +50 allows about a 1-2 stage bump on boost. To get to 2101 I used +100 (max)- no idea if its safe though.
Power limit is throttling it a bit in 3dmark though, after adding 100 to voltage - the voltage limit disappeared on my overclocks according to afterburner.

I lied, was a week later.

This trickle down way of releasing cards should be banned, it's such BS. They should release it on one day and you should be able to buy as many as you want by the next, not this pre-ordering/taking your money and then having to wait a bloody month to receive your goods. It's verging on a scam.

OK thanks for the tip buddy. It is already unlocked on 4.4.0 so no need for me to mess about with that thankfully.
