scone: simply adding voltage to my card results in a hard lock, if i use a curve it remains stable beyond 2100mhz. takes a bit of trial and error but it's worth it.
 
Does this fan curve look too aggressive :o? This is the first time I have ever bothered to mess around with fans+overclocks, generally just leave them all on the defaults. Power limit 100 still, core clock +50, memory still at 0. Still seems to settle around 1962-1987-2000MHz in games. Imagine I would have to mess around with the power/voltage to push for more and also waterblock?

Have you measured the performance when tweaking the curve.

I have tried several times and I find it is a bit like the Emperors new clothes. I get higher clockspeeds but no extra performance.
 
I have a hunch that on the FE it comes more down to how much volts your chip needs. If its a good chip, it will draw less volts and hit the power limit less and it will give you higher scores.

If the chip is not so good then it will allow you to set the clock but as it requires more power to keep it there, you will hit the power limit more.

In Superposition yes I saw some extra perf. but only up to a point, I think anything beyond 2100 is a minefield. Gregsters card is faster at roughly same clock speed but he has better power.

Have a go at setting a 1950 boost clock speed and see what volts you chip needs to be stable. I will be giving mine a go at some point over the weekend on the FE to see how good the bin is ready for the arrival of the HOF :)
 
So I got my Strix 1080ti OC and have to say I am very impressed with the card so far. Excellent build quality, very quiet and very cool. My last Nvidia card was a hybrid and I honestly don't think the difference in noise is that great, certainly not worth AIO extra cost so far.

The card overclocks well but need some more time to play with it and get it stable...unfortunately I have to travel for work for a few days...but glad I got the card earlier than waiting for the FTW and had some time to play...

Thanks slayer, no mods on this card, its totally stock only thing I have done is add a water block.

2088 is a very good clock, that's what I was getting before I tried the voltage curve and I was pretty chuffed with that clock speed.

Thanks Razor Time :) I tried to mimic that curve but it does not help me unfortunately. I still seem to hit power limit and tbf looking at GPU Z And the Perfcap it provides 3 different colours lol. Weird. I just think you got a cracking card/chip!

Sweet my cards working fine just wondering as i plugged an extra 8 pin into it whereas he only plugged in the one.

Thing didn't come with instructions lol.

LOL. Yeah you do and yes I do as well. 2nd 8 pin cable was in storage in the attic so I thought I'd get it when I put the ASUS Box in the attic. Wanted to get the picture in quickly though to get on TROH.

Was wondering if anyone would spot it :) all
Plugged in and working and OC to 2025 so far...
 
This thing is impressive. I love that the fans stay off when not in use (and even when in use it takes a while to get up to temperature). Too use to AMD cards cooking themselves.
