The Pascal Titan X and XP Owners Thread

If AMD don't release a something to +1 the 1080, I don't know if there will be a 1080ti if people keep buying the Titan XP.

Either way this card is a monster.

Getting 70+fps on GTA V with 4xMSAA. It's just lovely.

Ha you're just keeping the TX warm for me (; It will be a few months because 1080 Ti is coming very soon, and the same guys that rushed out for TXP will rush out for that xD

I'm kinda kicking myself now for buying a new 1080. They can be had for quite reasonable 2nd hand prices already. Whiskey and surfing hardware sites .... bad idea

It's not dreadfully loud in comparison to many blower coolers, but heat is the one of the limiting factors of max boost, so in order to maximise the card's capability, the temp needs to be brought under check.
Only really tolerable way to do that IMO is to put it under water in some form
If you play with headphones etc, it's probably not an issue using the cooler, and some people are just more tolerable of noise, but if anyone is considering a Titan X I think it's important to factor in the additional cost around WC.

Indeed.

I learnt my lesson from the last round getting a 980, then a 980ti.

Hence I went TXP.

Hang on.....So you originally went and bought an expensive card which was superseded fairly quickly by a slightly more expensive (But slightly better specced) card, so this time you have gone and spent an obscene amount of money on a Titan XP when in all likelyhood Nvidia will bring out the 1080Ti when Vega drops (Lets be honest here, that is when it will be if a 1080Ti is coming out at all), for around two thirds the cost of the Titan.

Well from what I can see you don't seem to have learned an awful lot from that last lesson. :p

Yes and no. Still as costly as they were new for me £5-600 for a decent 2nd hand one. Plus the TXP is £1100. Sure you get another 20-30% performance but its a costly step up.

A year down the line 1180 at TXP perf for 50% of the price. You always loose money on these things. Just best enjoy them while you can and not think about the loss :p

Actually, on my last card (980 GTX) I didn't lose a penny. Unwanted Christmas gift and the little scrote I bought it off didn't know what he had there.

But on the 1080 I'm getting ready to lose, so yea, try not to think about it too much.

I've had that issue before, but I can't remember what I did to resolve it. It happened on AC Black Flag. Vsync enabled in control panel?

Additionally I just added my old hybrid cooler to my XP.

Works perfectly:

Yes I have learnt. Something important your forgetting . . .

Titans hold their value much better than any other card out there.

Really could not give a monkeys if the Ti comes out or not tbh, it won't be as good as the TXP.

As soon as Volta Titan comes out I'll be getting that too and the next after that and so on.

As for vega well that could well turn out to be **** just like fury is.

You buy a Titan Pascal and don't watercool it? Mental.

I'm running on air at the minute - it's completely reasonable in terms of noise - louder than most aftermarket coolers but still not intrusively so.

My PC's in the living room and my other half's never complained about it making too much noise.

Buy some cheap case fans. Thats what I did and she complains all the time. It's great!
