The Pascal Titan X and XP Owners Thread

Think that happened to someone else recently regarding stock - bit of a communication issue at Nvidia it seems

Edit

If you can afford two Titans, then just buy both monitors :p

Haha I may end up buying a Ultrawide or least going test one out. I purchased the 4K IPS Gsync from Asus. Case is being made by Parvum have all my normal computer bits ready apart from my PSU waiting little bit longer on that for a G3 to come to U.K..

So once I've brought my Watercooling parts blocks radiators pumps fittings tubing I will consider the monitor then.

Not been a cheap system this time coming from a pretty basic 970 system lol.

Oh I need order my HB SLI Bridge as well lol.

For sure try both. I've had 4K and 1440 144hz, and now 1440 ultrawide (100hz). In my opinion 4K looks great but it's the 60hz that lets it down. But it's all down to preference.

100hz is just right and still feels lovely and smooth, 1440 still looks great. The ultrawide aspect is awesome too.

I'd at least try everything you can to find your sweet spot. Even 1440 144hz as that's smooth as silk.

Yeap ill take a 1440p 120hz IPS over a 4k 60fps anyday of the week.
Until the standard is 4k 120hz IPS and G-Sync i wont be upgrading at all monitor wise:)

Surprising how efficient modern PC's are these days. I swapped in a Platinum 860w power supply, stuck it in Hybrid mode and after 20mins of gaming the PSU fan still wasn't even running (TXP, [email protected], one SSD and one 7.2k drive, air cooling only).
Anyone know how much such a setup would be drawing?

Around 400w ish?

Yeah PSU's are great nowadays, even with mine maxed out the fan barely spins. Around 4-500rpm. Still keeps within the 30-40c range. Takes probably 5-600w load to actually start it spinning too.

So my family just gave me a big lump of cash as a christmas surprise and I've been mulling over selling my 1080 and getting a TXP for the extra horsepower it has.

Need input on this, Wait for the 1080 Ti or get the beast that is the Titan ?

Thing I'm thinking about though is would a Titan XP be wasted on a 2560x1440P G-Sync 144Hz panel ?

I wouldn't say wasted, but a clocked 1080 is a more cost effective option. Remember if you want to avoid any input lag you have to cap under refresh anyway. I do this at 120 as above this you would be very hard pushed to notice any difference.

They are not wasted even at 1080p.

The real question is, will the performance increase over a 1070 or 1080 be worth it to you for the very high asking price.

Well in some games the perf increase is only 10FPS over a 1080 which at least to me wouldn't be worth the massive outlay.

I'll watch more vids and read more reviews first before deciding anything.

Purchased my Titan XP on Friday but haven't heard anything about it being dispatched yet, is there still a delay with these? also i find it amusing how a £1099 card still only has standard 2-3 days delivery instead of next day.

You buy the Pascal Titan because it is the fastest solution available. Unfortunately it is not always the best solution when you take into account bang for buck and other factors too.

Or putting it another way, if you won't miss the money go for it and enjoy.

Even more appalling is that with most of them you get your card and then later that day get an email from them saying its being dispatched with your tracking number..............
