Not seen an official thread for this but the first episode of The Passage starts on Fox UK on Tuesday evening.

Based on The Passage Trilogy by Justin Cronin it is an epic tale of the Vampire Apocalypse. I have read all three books and also listened to them all on Audible. Have to say it is one of the best trilogies I have read. Not sure how will this TV adaptation will fair but there is enough material for many many seasons if they get it right.

Really looking forward to this.

I'm looking forward to it as well. Loved the books and I've also got the last book in the trilogy signed by Mr Cronin when he did a book tour in the UK a couple of years ago. I was in middle of night shifts as well but felt I really had to get the booked signed when I had the chance. Think I have a pic of him and me somewhere as well.

Haven't read the books so I don't know what to expect but it doesn't look bad and hopefully it holds up better than the Strain did.

If you get chance read the books. It's a rich epic tale and the ending is actually quite sad. Have to say Cronin develps the characters very well and I think the TV adaptation may miss that

Looks good, I’m a sucker for anything vampire related.

From what I’ve briefly read about this it’s only loosely based on the books so I’ll be picking them up too.

I listened to "The Passage" on audiobook and found it so dull I gave up (a rare thing indeed). I'll give the TV show a go and hope it's better.

Watched the first episode of this last night. Seems pretty good so far.

Really bugged me trying to work out where i recognised the main guy from until i checked IMDB and it's Zack Morris from Saved by the Bell!

My wife has read the books and said they were great. Was laughing as she said as she read them she thought it'd make a good tv show.

It was ok and a safe first episode. Safe as in it didn't really push the boundaries like another network would have done. Will tune in again next week

about mid way through the final book - think i'll finish it before jumping into the tv series. but if the tv show is even half as entertaining as the books it'll be a winner. that said, book to tv/film adaptations very rarely work or follow the source material

was it better than The Strain? i gave that a chance for the GdT involvement and the look was pretty good, but it just got really stupid/boring really fast.

I read both The Strain and The Passage trilogy. Probably sounds a bit elitist this(Not meant to by the way) but the Strain was a lot more trashy compared to The Passage Trilogy in my opinion. The pace of the The Strain for me is a lot quicker.

well i caught the first episode on a repeat. what a load of crap. totally unbelieveable on any level, didn't even have the style and design flair that The Strain did.

Is this another teen Oooo so lovely and pretty vampire movie ?

Just make Brain Lumleys necroscope series into a TV/ movie vampires are nasty and evil end of rant :)
