The performance diary of moving from a 1055t to a 3570k

i get up to 120fps in skyrim? i have 120hz monitor so maybe its vsync is locked? anyway i pretty much doubled my fps going from a 1090t @ 3.8ghz to my 3930k which was run at stock when i tried it, both on the same graphics card. Given skyrim wont use the extra cores you would assume if you could get the extra fps they would be there with the ivybridge lol.

i should add then it was on the same monitor also, incase anyone thinks i doubled it due to the monitor lol, it probably wasnt quite double but certainly wasnt far off it in some cases, i never measured it. Was also able to play some games in eyefinity with that card that were previously unplayable with the 1090t.

Going from a E8500 @ 4Ghz to a 3570k @ 4.4Ghz and I had to look really hard for any real gain in benefit in games. Maybe things were smoother overall but maybe that was me also wishing them to be.!
That was @ 1680x1050 and a 22" Samsung monitor with my GTX 460.

Now I have changed the GPU to a GTX 670 and run at 2560x1440 and I suppose they do compliment the CPU, in terms of being a balanced system.

For me the more recent biggest "wow" factor changes was the change from a mechanical drive to a SSD and then from a 24" Dell TN monitor to a 27" IPS.

I have yet to test mine on any other games at the moment. First thing i did was install gta 4 lol and had a bash on that. Gotta say wow, it's so so so much smoother and i don't get bad fps drops like before. Can use the latest ENB settings aswel for max eye candy :D
