After buying The Williams Collection for the Xbox 360 a realising just how damn good it is, I've been hoping they would release another collection.

On googling I've found that they are working on 'The Pinball Arcade' which is excellent news! It's the same concept as Zen where you have a hub and buy the tables.

"The first four tables will be Tales of the Arabian Nights™, Ripley's Believe It or Not™, Theatre of Magic™, and Black Hole™.

Each month we will be updating the game by releasing two tables as DLC and adding new features that will include online tournaments and head-to-head play.

With many of the all-time greatest tables from Williams®, Bally™, Stern Pinball™, and Gottlieb™; The Pinball Arcade™ is set to become the most realistic and comprehensive pinball game ever created!!!"

I honestly can not wait! I so hope they manage to licence Twilight Zone!

I feel Zen is a bit too fantasy. Williams Collection is leaps and bounds ahead if you can get your hands on that.

Wow.

Realy can't wait to get this, theatre of magic has never been done good justice in any emulation.

Could roll you a list of my favourite pins, but it's nice to see stern getting in on the act.... be nice to see a decent family guy make it out, rollercoaster tycoon, lord of the rings, just so good:)

1up for the above, if you're looking for a decent tng.. the vp9 version of the table in Vis pinball is near perfect in the way it plays. I owned the table for a while, probably the best emulated pinball table there's ever been imo/

What about Pinball FX (2?)

Oh it's the same thing... isn't it?

The same thing in the way all first person shooters are the same yes.

Pinball Arcade will have real licensed tables and the balls won't seem like they're made from rubber like in Pinball FX.

Find the ball physics wrong on FP.

yeah i know what you mean, some tables are pretty slow and kinda floaty and ramp shots are a bit hit n miss, but it is free.
think it depends on the creator too like, poppotes 60's and 70's tables are really great and a modder SLAMT1LT's tables are all pretty fast and weighty.

Have to say, looking forward to this more than ever.

When i found out before christmas that they were droping it for the ipad... pad/pinball/gym, perfect:)

Release date for iOS is this month, Vita is being targeted at February release with Mac shortly ater, date for Xbox, PS3 and PC is at the end of March.

They need to get noticed for what they are doing, they only have around 750 fans on facebook, for this to be successful the word needs to be spread!

Another video to wet your appetite:

Do any of these pinball games support screen in portrait mode? It would fill the screen out so much better.

Also I think Williams Pinball has the best ball physics.

No console pinball games support portrait mode.

The ball physics in Williams are a little floaty but the new videos look like they've sorted that :)

Zen just feels like a rubber ball to me

Pinball dreams/fantasies on ps3/psp support portrait mode, and no less fun today then 15 or so years ago ;)
