I'm just hanging about for a lower-than-RRP price of the PS3 Slim. One place has got it on pre-order for £249.99 which is the RRP but I'd imagine some must be lower (or am I kidding myself getting it lower than RRP due to it being too new?). The PS3 Phat even with a price reduction just isn't cheap enough in comparison to the PS3 Slim.
I must admit though I didn't like the look of the Slim at first glace, but I'm getting more accustomed too it.
The fat PS3 was selling for as little at £260 a couple of months ago, i don't think it's too far fetched to expect retailers (specifically online retailers) to drop below the RRP
I feel exactly the same, I will buy one when my refurb PS3 dies.Ill probably get one eventually now I know it can use replacement HDDs as Ive got a 320Gb in mine already (doubt theyve allowed taller HDs to fit though). When I find one for £200 or my PS3 dies its instant buy - whichever comes sooner...
Just needs to be super quiet though - anyone notice any void if removed warranty stickers yet?
Annoyed its longer though as I have mind on a shelf and it already overhangs (the base just fits) so this one will do so even more...

Just waiting for in depth comparison reviews regarding noise, compatibility etc.
It's not really in-depth, but Engadget posted some "quick and dirty" noise comparisons:
With a baseline of 49 decibels, the Slim averaged 53 to 56 db when in use / playing a game / installing data (in this case, Metal Gear Solid 4), compared to the 55 to 58 db of the original. Blu-ray movie playback is where it becomes noticeable, as the slim peaked for us at 60 db when the original was doing 70 db running the same disc.
Aye, thought as muchrp2000 said:You are kidding yourself![]()
