I do intend on buying a PS3 but Sony can take a hike if they think I'm paying £250 for one.

Will wait till they are ~£200
 
I've pre-ordered one already, but I don't already own a PS3. Personally I find the £250 tag more than reasonable considering what you are getting.

No consoles are really aesthetically pleasing (bar the coloured N64's and white Saturn I suppose) but the PS3 fat is particularly vulgar. Not as bad as the XBox 1 though!
 
i personally fail to see a reason for its existence. its hardly pint sized. i believe things like this should only be made if i can do every thing the original can, then that way they can stop selling the original.
 
If the failure rates are anything like the PS2 Slim, there is no chance I will consider picking up one. Had 2 die prematurely on me, there is no chance I'll pick up a third with a greater chance of failure.

hmmm interesting. I'll have to do that. My 40gb is a refurbished model, would rather own a brand new ps3.
 
It doesn't really look any smaller to me, just probably cheaper to manufacturer as it looks a bit tacky compared to the original PS3.
