I took my assesment day in April 09 but failed got 53% and needed 60% for Leicestershire.

Got a letter shortly after saying that I will have a new assesment day after 1st October 09 meaning they would re-use my application form.

Then about a month later I recieved another letter saying I have to wait a year now from the date I failed and have to start the process from scratch again. So have to go to a seminar, re do application form etc.

Anyone know if this is the new waiting time? Or is this just for Leicestershire? Had a look around the website but it still states 6 months so am a little confused.

Only failed on team working so its not like I got a D in Race and Diversity.

That's just for Leicestershire, you can apply to another force in 6 months. You can also transfer your assessment centre result to another force that requires a 50% score instead of 60%. You will have to travel further than the East Midlands however as they all require 60% I believe. West Mids would be the shortest to travel.

However, at the minute, I believe only one force out of 43 are recruiting and that is the BTP in Carlisle. MoD and CNC may also be recruiting if you fancy something like that.

BTP isn't one of the 43 forces in England & Wales, it being a separate entity like the MoD and CNC.

Not one of the 43 forces are recruiting at the moment I believe including the Met which was unheard of until recently. They always seemd to recruit.

Yeh, my mistake.

Money is Just too tight. It's all the people filling the cars up with the wrong fuel!
 
Theft, robbery and criminal damage for me tomorrow night, followed by OST theory on Wednesday night. Both Saturday and Sunday are being spent on the practical, and I have to say I'm not looking forward to being CS'd...

A person is guilty of theft if they dishonestly appropriate property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it.

I received a phone call today from recruitment offering me a place for another division. I politely turned them down. I would have been stationed 40 minutes away from my house (and that in it's self isn't a problem) however the training I would have been an hour and a half away which just wasn't feesable.

Gutted and it was such a gut wrenching decision to turn them down, even though I have been waiting 4 months for a placement, but it just wasn't right for me.

I just got a call from South Wales Police.. I have been selected to attend the upcoming assessment centre in October (providing some one drops out).

This has come as a bit of a suprise after initially being told I passed the paper sift but didn't get chosen from the mass of applicants (:confused: ), but nevertheless it's not going to dampen my spirits. Wish me luck!!

That's bad crack hilly. Am I right in thinking that you have passed all assessment centres etc and are just waiting for a start date ? I can't be bothered to read the whole thread again to find out ... sorry. :D
 
Well I just got back from the first day of OST, and I have to say it was actually really good. Wasn't a fan of the CS mind you, I couldn't see a thing for about 10 minutes and even now I'm still suffering.

Obviously we were told that we always have to go in and use maximum force regardless of the situation, and if we can find an excuse to use the CS then do so...
