I need access to those ships but havign trouble finding the right people to contact, photograph the insides!

Wouldn't happen to know anyone would you? :D

Switched my gear over to nikon in preparation for getting a D800 later this year so at the moment I'm using a D300s, which has the same AF system, so quite nice to learn on and see what I've been "missing" from using a 5D mk ii. Anyways, went out for a walk and these are a small sample of what I took:

All pretty much straight off the camera. Used a Nikon AF-S 300mm F4 prime for all four shots.

Are those unprocessed? They have the Nikon colour flavour to them which I've grown quite familiar with over the years (Also shot with a D300/D70s).

Yup, spot on mate :O I didn't feel like they needed anything doing to them, so didn't bother.

More awesomeness :) Are these tripod shots or handheld? My handheld shots with my Canon 100mm macro lens tend to have a much small DOF too!

Na hehe :) I left back in 2001 so it's been a while! Those ships are mothballed so a lot of the kit on them might have been removed unless theyre trying to sell them with all the kit on I guess!

I have some old pics somewhere of the engine room of the last ship I was on lol

You need to stop down macro lenses vastly more than normal ones due to the hyperfocal range being so damn small. Due to that, they are probably tripod shots, or using a flash if the aperture is at the levels I think it is!
