Hi,

I've seen a chart somewhere that shows 8800GT isn't far behind the GTX but I can't seem to find it. I've looked on Tom's hardware VGA chart but the GT isn't listed yet.

I'm trying to prove to someone who thinks the GTX is tonnes better than the GT, when its not that much ahead.

Anyone know where the charts are I'm looking for?

The GTX pulls ahead when AA/Higher res comes into play on most games, still I don't think it's "tons" better, it does get a hefty lead on select games but not all.

I await the "OCuk fanboi" comments that are gonna follow mishima post. That post just looks like a big advertising campaign for OCuk "..for hearing the latest news and has good conversation regarding hardware." Quite funny :D

The GTX is superor to the GT though he is right. At the high resolutions with max settings on games with AA and AF the GT gets crippled. Ive already had a very long discussion about this with easyrider and ive shown more then enough benchmarks which prove this.

The GTX is superior if you game on a 24" and like AA and AF to be maxed out. The GT is obiously by far the best bargin, that doesn't mean the GTX isn't superior.

It was a EVGA 8800GT SSC (700/1750/2000) that was just behind the GTX/Ultra, but started to fall behind at 1600xRES's and them more so at 1920X RES's.

No shame as its not a Flagship Card and no shame to the GTX/Ultra as the tech is 1 year old.

At 1680x1050 I find everything I run runs fine with AA and at a higher res probs will too.

The argument was that the GTX was much better than the GT. I appreciate its better than the GT, but there isn't much of a gap thats the point I was trying to make - he won't have it though lol.

Aye I had a GT on order to sell my GTX this week as, at least at my resolution, it's not far behind at all. The only reason I ended up stopping that plan was because there's absolutely no stock of the GT anywhere and I CBA running around for one.

Im not going to argue this twice but like i said before gaming on a 24" with aa and AF and it will make a substantial difference. Its dependent on what screen and settings you expect to be able to run.

GT vs GTX in the end (started off GT vs GTS)
