(Late) last night I was thinking about spending my impending bonus on one of these with a SLI shuttle, until I remembered that SLI wont work with dual screens - is this still the case?

I also should check whether the shuttle mobo is on the list (somehow I doubt it)

Also, I'm interested to know which skt 939 motherboards people are using without issue on these. I'm not convinced the beta BIOS I'm using on the A8N premium is up to par.

Can anyone confirm a 7950 GX2 will work ok on a single PCI-express slot ? Anands review claims it does and a SLI board isnt needed, yet I coulda swore some guys on here were saying SLI needed....

Btw my recently melted 7800GTX has been refunded of £400 and looking currently at the price of the 7950 GX2 price of £399.99 does not help...

Was playin serious sam 2 today and noticed the graphics had gone rather strange! the glare/shine on guns etc had gone OTT and just strange...
:confused:

Also the graphic quality dropped pretty bad

Just got my 7950 gx2 and I'm very pleased had a problem at first because I didn't have to correct bios or the beta drivers :eek:

, upgraded from a amd64 3200+ 1gig 680 gt to x2 4400+ @2.4(air) 2gig and 7950 gx2.

Same with my mobo, I think nividas 7950 compatibility list is just simple and they havent tested it on every board out there like.... its been stated on reviews it works on non SLI boards and on boards with one single PCIexpress 16x slot, with perhaps the latest bios update.

I think its a trial and error case.

Wonder if my Abit AN8 and 400 watter would cope with the 7950 !

Yep it works fine , However the "Auto detest optimum speed" option is only available in the new style control panel. Once set you can flip back to the old panel & keep your settings though

just checked and it will work in sli on the aopen only with the hacked drivers though.

Just in case you didnt know I bleive this is what happens.

IF you have an SLI rig ( or a GX2 I would hazzard a guess) then in normal windows operation both screens are usable. ( or as many as you have attached if its two seperate cards...again hazzarding a guess) however as soon as you load an app / game that requires or uses SLI then the 2ndry monitor goes blank / no signal so all the power of the card(s) are used on primary display. As soon as you exit from the app the second screen starts recieving a signal again.

This is how I understand how SLI works, or certainly did til relatively recently
