What do people think of this

Now I am harshly judging this for two reasons. 1 - Your the queen and can hire the best of the best (which i don't think Liebowitz is) and 2 - You'd think you'd want to portray yourself as loving and realistic to the public.

Instead what I think shes got for her money is a very very fake looking picture, lighting looks very strange to me, as if there is spot lighting on all their faces, or alternatively lots of pictures of the kids cut into one.
This might be because its a low res image for the news, but I can't help but think it looks like a terrible photoshop job

Also christ can you get a less emotional photo if you tried. I strikes me as a lady who has been handed a child and had the riff raff of the family pushed around her really quickly. The kids don't look like they want to be there at all. I do realise that posh/royalty have to have a stiff upper lip etc but this is awful. is the kid with his hands in his pockets trying to make the whole thing look relaxed? Is the one holding the bag playful; or a slave? We can all see who the outcast of the children is over there on the right, lol.
What's with all the chairs in the edges of the picture? It's almost like they didn't have enough space in her mansion  Every single bit of this picture is there on purpose trying to sell us a lie or tell us a story but I think it's very badly done.

She probably got 100s of thousands to take that if not more, and her gritty celebrity style does not work here imo. Stick to the black and whites of movie stars.

As a photo it looks a bit odd, but at the same time it certainly wouldn't look out of place amongst a group of oil paintings, which I guess is what the photographer was aiming for.

Agree it's horrid.
It's almost as if they've tried to dress the kids in the same clothes the queen would have worn at their age and failed miserably at doing it.

its a royal photo and its Liebowitz, thats why it looks the way it does.

i dont rate Liebowitz at all as anything special just one of those long time togs who has a name because she's been around some 40 years or so.

as for the picture itself, for me theres just too much empty space around them and the post processing looks off hence its got a photoshop look to it. but they will have paid a chunk of change to have Liebowitz so no one will say anything as god forbid you pick at someone's work who is supposed to be good :P

It's the style people expect from an official Royal photograph, I'm sure plenty of people would be shocked if they were all jumping about on a white background ticking all the trendy boxes for modern family portrait work!

Yup.

I also suspect the photographer knows what Her Majesty wants from an official family photo as is delivering exactly that.

The client is always right, especially when they're the reigning monarch.

All royal pics look the same to me. All cardboard. They all look inbred too which could be the way the shots are taken etc. Just doesnt look 'normal'

Would be interested to hear how those slating it would have done it better?

To me it looks exactly like a Royal photograph, which is exactly what it should look like.

It is what it is... a dry, stuffy royal portrait. The worst aspect is the room, which is far too busy and distracting. A far cry from Calder's Queen of Scots photo.

I think you need to phone the Palace as you've completely transformed the feel of that photo.

If you can fix lousy composition in PP, I'll send you a few of my holiday snaps to work on..

I don't know about you Flubble, but I'm detecting a touch of sarcasm is the post above :p

Its a case of you can't 'polish a ****' I feel.
