So smoking is bad and costs a fortune and have tried previously to give the buggers up. I love my PC Gaming and have come to the conclusion that there is no better way to fund my next build project by quitting the Ash.

I've set up a seperate account that i can put the money I would spend each day on smokes into and when enough has been saved to buy a component it will be bought. The hope is that by my target of Dec 10th I will have all the bits necessary and that by ordering bit at a time, the arrival of parcels will keep the motivation up.

So today the fund is opened with £9.83

and now for the build outline which I will update as we trundle along..

Haswell Based
Mid Range OC Board
16Gb Ram
256 SSD
GTX 770
Dedicated Sound Card
Mid Range PSU
Water Cooling Solution - All in one solution - ie Antec Khuler Equiv
New Case would consider down sizing from my Cosmos

and here are some of the items that will be flogged when its finished.

Asus P8P67 Pro
i5 2500k
GTX 680 Windforce
8Gb Ram

Good for you mate on trying to give up the smokes :) and great idea regarding putting any money you save into your PC build.

I'm doing a similar thing with regards to going out and drinking, cutting back on the alcohol etc and instead putting that money towards my build, means I actually have something to show for my expenditure. The same for you, come the start of December you could either have a new gaming PC or have spent that money on smokes which certainly won't be doing your health any good :(

You've got my backing buddy, stick with it and I look forward to seeing this build come together :D

Good luck mate, I gave up 6 years ago and it's dam hard but now I cringe when I see people smoking and fagging around!

Smoking stinks
you stink if you smoke
you aint cool if you smoke
it's expensive
you health is poor if you smoke

Stop smoking, buy some pc stuff and get down the gym!

etc, etc ...

I quit smoking 2 years ago, and I have built 2 new gaming pcs since then. Could I have afforded that when I smoked? No! Good luck mate, and keep us updated with your build!

Hey man I hope your will power's stong and your still off the smokes :-)
Out of interest do you currently have a 2gb or a 4gb 680? As if it's a 2gb and you plan to get a 4gb 770 (with the aim of going for a surround setup in the future at somepoint) I can see why you'd want to upgrade, as the extra Vram I've heard would certainly be handy for a triple monitor setup.
