Has there ever been a time in this forums history where the word racist/racism gets used so frequently, as it does now? It's cropping up in numerous SC and GD threads on a daily basis and even gets flung in elsewhere, often completely off-topic as some kind of point scorer.

Is it purely down to what's happened recently in the US and the BLM movement or are people truly becoming more openly racist again?

Oh ffs, this is getting so boring. Why can’t the mods just put a block on this constant forum spamming?

I would quite like to hear from the mods. If people are being more openly racist now, then why is it being tolerated?

Depending on the severity it’s a lengthy ban or even perma-ban if you post anything racist on here so...

Lets take this thread what is it about?

There's no hidden agenda here. It's a simple question to long time members, asking if they've noticed a swing back in the other direction as I'm aware this place did have issues with racism early on.

So with such a person at the helm it seemed to attract fellow minded people. They have always been there it's just people turned a blind eye to it. The mods are likley all white so they will never see anything from the other side or if they are coloured likley whitewashed with no real sense of their ethnicity.

It's pretty obvious with all the race baiting threads and the same people spewing racist rhetoric.

I think that's jumping to conclusions a bit. So all of the mod team are white and because of that, they don't know what racism is?

Would a white person sense prejudice in the same way as a person who is non white?

My train example is a great one.

I can guarantee you the other 2 white people had no clue what had just happened.

She got up because of me. They likley never even noticed what had happened because they are oblivious to the small things people do or say or the way they say them.

My mum was scarred for life on her face by a racist she needed stitches across her face.

Now that's an obvious case when someone is shouting the word **** at you and throws stuff at you.

It's the not so obvious stuff with is much harder for white people to see as they have never been on the receiving end.

I'm not even sure we're discussing the same point here? The examples you've provided I'm unable to question and if they happened as described then yes that likely is racism at play. What we have here though are posts on a forum that moderators are able to review and discuss. You've assumed that the whole mod team are white or "whitewashed" and if so, that then means they don't understand what racism is or they simply can't see it. It can't be that subtle either as a number of white posters are able to spot it so easily on a daily basis. It just seems to be a fairly baseless accusation to state that the mods aren't clever enough to spot it or even worse, they turn a blind eye to it.

This thread was an attempt to get to the bottom of how common it is on here. I'm well aware that racism still exists and is prevalent in some areas.

It's easy to hide your agenda if you hide it behind something and not make it so obvious.

Maybe keep a record of the type of post made by certain members and see how they only ever really respond to or start threads with an agenda against others.

I questioned that in my previous reply though. It can't be that easily hidden with how often racist or something alluding to that gets flung at people on here.

I shouldn't need to keep a track on anything as I trust the moderators are taking a sensible approach to genuine cases of racism. I'm not going to accuse them of ignoring it or not understanding it as you have done.

The mods aren't magicians they require everyone on here to do their part and that means you have to report posts.

How many posts have you reported?
(rhetorical question)

I can't speak for them but I imagine a lot of posts get reported and I've seen many a thread with mass deletions.

You said it was rhetorical but I've reported quite a few posts over my time here. Not all for racism mind you.
