The Radeon VII Owners Thread

I only put afterburner on this morning to monitor it was doing it yesterday without it installed ???

Il remove anyway and retry

Should core clock be bouncing around 100mhz area is that normal ??
By 100 I mean between 1750 -1850

also memory 800 to 1000 mhz

fps normal when this going on its only when core clock drops to 800 it all goes pear shaped

The core should be hovering under the number is set to, so yeah 1750 to 1800 unless it's overheating.the memory should be at 1000 though and not drop.
When I had this 60fps lock problem i unistalled afterburner, reinstalled uplay, and re install the gpu drivers.

I have been running some benches' this morning and so far on air I can get this.

( still waiting for royal fail with my waterblock ) seems it went in the wrong direction:mad:

so far I have run timespy with this result 10307 http://www.3dmark.com/spy/6691874
and fire strike with this result 25698 http://www.3dmark.com/fs/18827167

under water there will be a little more to come.
What cpu and ram do you have?
I need to break the 10000 timespy
Can you give me the settings you used for those clocks please?

hi, the CPU and ram is in my sig. i9 9900k G-skill 3600 MHz memory. CPU is at 5ghz and memory is at 3800mhz

watman settings was 1.180mv 2100mhz
mem max at 1200 but clocks higher
fans 100% just for benching
power limit was max +20

that's about it.

Here is a little secret of how to keep them junction temps under control when clocking so you don't get any thermal throttling. look at the back of the VII and you will see a 60mm fan blowing directly on the back of the core. makes a big difference that little fan.

Interesting. Where did you get that fan Matt?

I had it in my draw matt, its an old corsair vengeance fan that they used to do in a kit for sitting over your ram, any 60mm fan will do, I used an old pci slot cover, bent it 90 degrees over then stuck the fan to it using double sided foam tape.
then attached it under screw for the pci slot behind the GFX card. nothing is attached to the card directly.

Is it sucking away or blowing down onto the chip?
