I'm slowly upgrading my PC, has been so long since I've upgraded more than my graphics card that I have no idea what to get for the rest of the parts. I've ordered an HD4850 to get a quick boost, now I just need a mobo/cpu/ram and i'm good to go.

This machine will be used for gaming but I have a budget of only around 200-300 for remaining parts. Have been looking at Q6600, but no idea what mobo to get with it, feels weird not knowing this kind of thing anymore

Suggestions will be great

EDIT: Oh, may need a PSU aswell, mine seems on the way out

Thats off the bat and should be a few notes below the £300, also need a half decent cooler in there, maybe the arctir freezer 7 pro for 17 quid a good bargain. I think just below 300 notes.

For gaming, this CPU would be better: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showp...LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB) - Retail No need for quad really. The rest of the above looks fine though

I'd only go for quad over E8400 if you get yourself one of those low VID ones that clock to 4Ghz on air.
