The Return of 3DFX**

I'm disappointed they didn't mock up some board shots, if following on from the Voodoo 5 it might have had 8 VSA chips!

You mean like these mock ups from back in the day? :D

^ Wow, I've never seen these prototypes before. I thought the Voodoo 5 6000 was shocking enough, these are amazing if real. Is that an Intel bridge chip, i.e. could these have been compatible with Pentium 4 boards unlike the V4/5 series?

Edit: you'd have been somewhat limited in case choice with the second card ;-)

Lol, they're not real, the top one is a VD5-6000 with another set of fans on the VRAM, the bottom is a shopped* VD5-6000 with half the card added onto the end to make it double long :P

*When I say shopped I mean edited in Paint Shop Pro because Adobe's clone hasn't become super popular yet :P

Gah! My excitement blinded me, how embarrassing :p.

Graphics cards were so much more exciting in those days, the launch of Voodoo 2 and then the GeForce DDR were like legendary events with huge leaps in performance. Games were better too. </removes rose tinted glasses>

I remember when the Geforce 4 Titanium line launched and not only could you run games at 1024x768 but you could now use that fancy new "AA" feature :D

I wish they would come back tbh... a 3rd major player... a lot of people would go for them... possibly AMD boys who are unhappy with drivers and couldn't bare to go green again... however, I'd be interested if they released a new beast... shame... I had a Voodoo 1 and 2... Quake OpenGL was epic... first time I seen that I **** my pants

I wish they would come back as Nvidia's main brand. So for example, they could box and sell the Titan X under the 3DFX banner. Like a special card...

Either that or Nvidia should let a new partner start up using the name or something. Can see it now.. The Voodoo BFG...
