The return of Crocodile Dundee..starring....Danny McBride

Kind of missing the humour of the original. We never laughed at Mick Dundee whereas this looks like the joke is the character.

I actually really like Airplane and Airplane 2, I still find them funny even now almost 40 years later. This one though does seem to be trying to make it into a dad was cool, cunning and tough, son turns out to be uncool and an idiot, type of movie. My one hope would be that this teaser isnt actually for a Crocodile Dundee movie..but something unrelated, where Mcbride is just mimicking Dundee for that scene. Though it isnt all that likely, what with it being made by Rimfire Films and the only films they've done are the Crocodile Dundee films so I expect it is indeed another in the franchise.
 
I grew up on Dundee. He was my hero, I watched Croc 1 and 2 over and over as a kid. This just feels wrong, so wrong.

Ah, this could've been done so well, even to take a lot of the comedy aspect out of it. Could've had someone like Hugh Jackman as the son or something (I know the son is supposed to be American).

I've super high hopes that it's good but I wouldn't bet on it one bit.
 
Paul Hogan is credited (in it and as Exec Producer)..... and is quoted as babbling about bringing Dundee to a new generation.
So, as per Blues Brothers 2000, Ghostbusters and all the rest, this is a reworking of the previous fun films into outright slapstick BS.....

Great.
I quite enjoyed McBride in Your Highness, but that didn't seem like it was supposed to be serious in any way. This, however.... Pure shame.

Airplane - the pastiche of flight disaster movies, you mean?

(yes it's good, and this one is likely to be bad, but they come from a similar angle)
