nah they are all reference, the custom ones are always laterI am pretty sure the Gaming X Trio from MSI is on a custom board, as it is huge.

Although as far as I've read, this reference board is pretty good as it is.nah they are all reference, the custom ones are always later
Does that mean the founders edition is better than these AIB ones?nah they are all reference, the custom ones are always later

Look like the £1500 Asus 2080ti ROG Strix has disappeared off the OCuk site
The cards up for preorder are not all reference PCBs. Trio X is MSI’s custom board, the Duke OC is a custom reference board.

I’ve heard they’re sold out in the US
Presumably shorthand for "custom board based on the reference design" - i.e. minor additions/modifications to reference design, not something made up from scratch.
Ah no good if that is true. I should've just went with the semi-cool looking founders edition! I chose gigabyte windforce thinking it would be better than founders / reference. So basically I've purchased a lesser card for about the same price. Some people say NVIDIA keep the best chips back for the FE edition (perhaps they are the evil NVIDIA rent boys).
And if you're going to put a liquid block on it, then it won't matter about any cooler differences.

I would expect the gigabyte one to ship out at the same time, so that isn't a problem. If the founders edition is a better choice though then that changes things. I don't know if that is entirely true though. You could still do that in all fairness. Nvidia still have 20th September shipping. That may be earlier than the gigabyte one too as I remember you said you need a new GPU since your old one died.
Pretty sure the duke is a reference pcb, not custom at all
