The RTX 2080 pre-order thread

I didn't know where the hell to put this little bit of info (so many threads!) but I don't think the MSI OSD is reporting the core clock correctly in the new beta 4.6.0 Beta 9 (prob something to do with Boost 4.0). I've checked my (graphics) Timespy scores and they seem to tally with overclocked cards (and the OC scanner puts my curve above 2100).

The OC Scanner is accessable by pressing Ctrl-F btw.

if some one was upgrading from a 1080ti to a 2080 would that be considered madness?

Madness you say?!

You answered your own question though why do you think you typed madness? Your going to buy one anyways but be forewarned if you do expect the next gen in 2020 to cost £850. And im going to quote this when it happens you mark my words

I refused to order from NVIDIA on or near launch day because it would have been utter irrational chaos. The site went down for a few hours, too. Only the most desperate clingers would have managed to bag early orders.

The card prices are really rocketing. £1,289 for the Giga windforce now! That's nearly a £250 increase from initial price last month. What gives? OCUK still have no ETA (according to the website listings) on most cards so who is setting these prices, suppliers or the retailers?

Also some other websites have cards listed with an ETA of the 27th. That could be BS but I'm hopeful we will start to see Ti's come through next week.

I think OcUK have enough orders to see them through to xmas, the demand means they put the prices up, if it was your company you would do the same. People will now order elsewhere though, same card £150 less.

OcUK have always been the masters of hoovering up the bulk of the incoming stock on new releases for quite a while after, so ya pays ya money and takes your chances....:D
