The RTX 2080 pre-order thread

It's a GPU, how else can you test it by opening the box and plugging it up to your system. I'm not sure how much more you would need to handle it.

That's not relevant, you know what you are buying. Or you should, the rules aren't there for testing, just to give you the same level of service as you would get in a shop. Which would mean visually inspecting the box.
If it's faulty that's another matter.

A shop won't let you take your PC in and install the card to see how it works either.

It’s not renting in the slightest...

Oh really? So you pay a monthly sum and then the car is yours, like HP? Oh no, that's not right because the car still isn't yours unless you pay the balloon payment.

Or you can hand it back and stop paying, right? Like renting :p

Or get a new one and keep paying the monthly sum? Like renting :p

I'm pulling your leg, I'm sure that works great for those that use that kind of deal :D

PS. apologies for getting off topic :P

You legally own the car, you pay the same money regardless, many deals are 0%. £40k car, keep the £40k, pay the same value over time, use £30k to convert my loft, increased value of house by £50k, when the balloon comes more like £70k.

It’s really a smart thing to do with the size of contributions and tiny or non aprs. ;)

Because unless you have never checked hardware has month delays otherwise, it’s already nearly showing as November in the U.K. from NV direct.

People want the new product when it’s out, not sure how that’s difficult to understand particularly after recent shortages...

No shortages at the moment? It's your money, just seems mental to spend so much on something that isn't out and you have no idea on how it performs! Same applies to any product really, I don't understand pre-orders of anything.
More money than sense but each to their own!

Agree to disagree, NV store launch was 20th Sep, Overnight 23rd October (U.K.) so Short of stock. Many AIB vendors you won’t know until they arrive, or have you forgotten the 1080 stock when that launched which took months to fulfil.

If you are thinking of buying it then smart move is to secure one, if it’s not for you in a months time just cancel the order no harm done. People are talking like it’s not possible to cancel an order which doesn’t fulfil for a month :)

That’s tech for you.

great can we keep repeating this kind of stuff over and over again

Fair enough I can embark on an explanation of how a PCP is an ownership scheme and its virtues vs a lease if you wish, won't have anything to do with GPU's though

The real benefit of PCP though is Ray Tracing, unless you want a dusty car that doesn’t reflect fire like a total idiot.
