The Running Man

Have you seen it recently? It's not gritty at all.

I'm inclined to agree with this tbh, as much as I love the movie it comes across as camp and silly more than anything most of the time.

There is the odd bit which you could consider gritty, but it's certainly not a prevalent theme within the movie.

I mentioned this earlier but I really feel people are going to unfairly compare this to the flick rather than the book, and most of the posts in this thread after I made that statement have proven my point!

The Purge has more in common with Kings book than the 1987 Arnie film.

Trailer looks fun actually, I'm surprised. I'll go see this. This is closer to the book than the original apparently. :D

It'll be a pile of cack.

The original was alright, bit of fun really, they've taken a safe bet financially, which is what all movies these days are really about, and still **** it up.

White Men Can't Jump remake springs to mind...
Also utter garbage like Bill and Ted 3...

Trailer doesn't really do anything for me. I predict a short cinema release followed by a very rapid VOD/streaming release date!

Never read the book, and didn't even know the Arnie version was based on anything. It was ok, for an 80's film, but not great and not one of his best.

Not really sure why this Glen Powell is being mentioned a lot these days. Only really know him from Top Gun2. He's talked about a lot on The Rest is Entertainment podcast as well.

'Hit Man' was pretty good for what it was, if you dont expect too much from it.
