I checked, and this appeared very shortly after I cancelled Netflix, which is why it doesn't ring a bell. Sounds OK from the description on wikipedia, but I have been caught out by many Netflix stinkers using that methodology!

There is the book version and the film version, so it could go 2 ways. Either reviewed positively or reviewed negatively. I'm liking what I see in the trailer. It seems to be an all-out action movie, a bit over the top and maybe not too serious. It's a thumbs up from me to see this in the cinema in late 2025.
I remember the book as being very bleak. So the trailer's humour suggests to me they're trying to take from the book and the film. Raises a worry that it'll fall between two stools and ruin itself. But Edgar Wright directing has to mean it's worth giving a chance to.
I just looked up his filmography (his name rings a bell but nothing came to mind). Seems to be Simon Pegg comedies and a few average films. Doesn't inspire me tbh!

This is the best Running Man.
It was quite good to be fair, for a simple easy to watch film, some good enough comedy for what it is.

Granted he’s not as prolific as you’d assume but he’s one of the best known British directors of recent times. And calling the Cornetto Trilogy “a few Simon Pegg comedies” is damn near trolling
Edit: Does your location suggest you’re not British perhaps? He is very British centric but he’s worked in Hollywood a lot (eg Ant Man)
His involvement is definitely where the comedy is coming from. I’m not sure that’s a good thing. I’ve never read the book but assumed it was dark and straight, not funny

tbh I assumed Simon Pegg and Nick Frost directed/produced those films but I'm not a fan of those films anyway, so from his Filmography the only ones I would even watch are Ant-Man, Tintin and Baby Driver, but not because he is the director, if you see what I mean.

Saw the trailer for this when I was in the cinema the other week, doesn't look great.
Wuuuuuuuut?! Running Man was awesome! Well, it was at the time, not sure if it stands up now. Rewatched it many times in my yoof.
