The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

@TonyTurbo78 @AMDMatt Which PSU do you have?
I'd like to OC more than my CX 750 (Bronze) will allow but I'm wondering how many Watts is actually necessary for your level of OC. Would an 850W Gold do the trick? 1000W prices are mental like.

I've a 1200w Superflower PSU. I reckon a 1000w should be fine, just make sure the brand is solid and get gold or platinum if you can. Strong rails always favourable when overclocking anyway.

Vega64 LC

I have a 1200W and a 2000W PSU for my second Threadripper system.

Balls to the wall overclocked Vega 64 and Ryzen 1800x @4.075Ghz @1.5v, most i have seen drawn from the wall is around 600W.

750W will be more than sufficient.

@heartburnron try stock or balanced mode see what happens I'll fire up mine in a while, check and report back.
Did manage to play for half an hour there on the balanced profile with no issue. Mmmm I think I'd be happier blaming it on the Windows update! :D If the game doesn't like my overclocked settings then so be it I guess - it's just seems a bit off given I've been playing close to 10 different games at 1080 memory and 1777 core without issue since the latest drivers were released and I played Battlefield for an hour yesterday at the higher clocks before the Windows update with no problems. I wonder if it's only in DX12 mode given it was mentioned in the error message - must try it in DX11 with the higher settings and see what happens...

Try dialing back the HBM to 1050 and then eventually 1075 to see if that fixes it.

Only my 1st Vega 64 does 1100Mhz reliably 24.7 gaming, the others top out at 1075Mhz for full 24/7 gaming stability.

no issues here, at the new higher overclock as well.

How does Dishonoured 2 run these days? Performance issues fixed?
It's been ok for me. It did stutter on about 3 occasions throughout the 20 hours I've played so far but generally I'm averaging around 70 FPS at 3440x1440. The frame rates do fluctuate a lot - up to 90 FPS and I seen it go down to the mid 40's once or twice when looking in a certain direction but more and more modern games seem to behave like that now don't they. No problem and completely undetectable without a frame counter OSD with freesync of course. Fantastic game by the way, I'm not a fan of stealth games but I'm not playing it that way at all and it's a blast. The exploration is fantastic.

Been wanting to pick it up for ages along with Watch dogs 2 but the PC performance maybe early on release was putting me off and the fact i had a R9 290 and 2560x1440p I just didnt see the point buying. I might pick up now its also on steam sale this weekend.

Thanks

edit
Cdkeys £13 with DLC ok bought lol

I'm getting close to 1800mhz chaps. Think my voltage is broke though, I'm not getting nowhere near the 1250mv I've set in Wattman. Wish I knew exactly what it's at, that's a real concern not knowing precisely.

EDIT* just had a moment here, I'm done pushing, it's time to back off before I blow this gpu. Just set 1825mhz (was at 1810 for this video) had a complete system freeze, couldn't do anything, not even holding down the power button would shut down. Then everything just shut down out the blue. Tried to turn on pc, nothing. Flicked the PSU rocker switch off and back on, still nothing, at this point I'm starting to brick it. Then realised monitor wasn't powering on, flicked the surge protector off and back on and finally she powers on met with a huge sigh of relief. Went into Wattman to check settings and everything had been set back to balanced. So now settling at the 1750mhz mark and forgetting the 1800mhz goal. I was so determined to match Matt's beastly overclock LMAO. Looks like I can't do it Matt:(

Woah scary stuff mate - I'd have had a red face and a cold sweat myself. Good effort though!

What game is that in your video? Amazing to see the clocks go that high (obviously Matt's freakishly good card aside) and proves there really are significant performance gains to be realised by having your card under a custom water loop.

Lol, good job though man, I'm sure no damage is done. I'm sure you could get 1777Mhz comfortably if you keep going.

1250mv translates to around 1.175v-1.200v max in HWINFO. If you see those values, you're receiving max voltage.
