The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Can anyone point me the right direction to C1 REVISION LC vega 64 BIOS? Every single one i found and tried on techpowerup.com shows up as C0 in GPUz and doesnt play nice with my air 64 converted to LC one with EK waterblock. I would really appreciate it guys n gals

I'm 99.9% sure you wont find one. Every LC bios will be a C0 revision, C1 is air cooled. As soon as you flash, it'll change C1 to C0.

I havn't no, but im sure Raja or someone said it, when they were asked about the FE for gaming, when it came out, unless im going mad :p

EDIT: On the actual FE website, 'I Just Want To Game'.

https://pro.radeon.com/en/product/radeon-vega-frontier-edition/

Tells you to switch it to 'Gaming Mode', and links you to the Adrenalin drivers.

You might be thinking of the AMA...

"The Frontier Edition was designed for a variety of use-cases like Machine Learning, real-time visualization, and game design. Can you play games on Frontier Edition? Yes, absolutely. It supports the RX driver and will deliver smooth 4K gaming. But because it is optimized for professional use cases (and priced accordingly), if gaming is your primary reason for buying a GPU, I’d suggest waiting just a little while longer for the lower-priced, gaming-optimized Radeon RX Vega graphics card"

a Raja statement where he put the emphasis on price being the reason to wait for the cheaper RX Vega

The Radeon Vega Frontier Edition graphics card is going to empower the pioneers creating the next generation of gaming experiences, but it does beg one question: Can you game on a Radeon Vega Frontier Edition? The answer is yes, absolutely. But because this graphics card is optimized for professional use cases (and priced accordingly), if gaming is your primary reason for buying a GPU, I’d suggest waiting just a little while longer for the lower-priced, gaming-optimized Radeon RX Vega graphics card. You’ll be glad you did.

I'm sure someone will twist what he's saying due to him not spelling it out, ignoring what is implied, Just like how he didn't say which type of Vega would release in the 1st half of 2017 even though he said it would release in the first half at an event where they were demoing Vega's gaming performance.

And that one :D

Thank you. It's interesting how the RX bit was cut out of what looks like the same answer just posted on the AMD site.

Ah i see.

Well it does use the RX driver in the FE package, but you cannot install the RX driver packge with the FE, if that makes any sense. I can see why there is confusion reading that.

Bottom line, if you try and install the RX driver on FE it won't work. You'll need to wait for the RX driver to be incorporated into the FE driver package, which may only be every three months or longer.

Shambles.
That's intentionally misleading by whomever did the AMA (I assume Raja)
