The RX Vega 64 Owners Thread

Bizarre. What PSU are you using and are you using separate cables for each 8PIN?
What power supply do you have?
First I had a corsair cx750m but sent it back because of this problem, then got a kolink 1000w and the problem continued.
But surely under all that overclocking stress and all those stress test programs (i was trying to crash it but it wouldn't) it would have hard reset if it was the PSU?
Yet it only happens when running a game.. Stock, OC'd doesnt matter same result.

I'm looking at the PowerColor Red Devil vs. Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 64s now. Any pros/cons between either (price differences notwithstanding)? They seem like very similar beasts...

I'm coming over from the Green team (Auros 1080 ti) and am looking to take advantage of my Freesync display.

Here's a review of each card from the same reviewer, so good data points.

Powercolour
Sapphire

I think it comes down to, do you want to pay the extra money for the Sapphire and get customizable LEDs on the GPU? The Sapphire may be tuned out of the box to achieve a slightly higher core frequency, but you could achieve similar with tweaking of the Powercolour card and good case airflow management.

I've never heard of that PSU and it looks to be a budget PSU.

Do you have something of higher quality you can try?

From a quick scan for some Kolink PSU reviews (saw reviews for 1050W, 1500W), they're alright. Not the best, but not bad either. Still I do agree with you that this sounds like it could be a power delivery failure.

Indeed, their Gold/Platinum units usually get good reviews: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&file=print&reid=521

Avoid their Bronze and 80+ ones though, unless you're trying to start a fire.

He is using the Bronze version.

When i see a 1000W power supply priced at £48 and £70 respectively, i do worry.

Quite. I'd never trust my system to something like that. Superflower Leadex all the way :)

Well, no. A power supply must be able to keep up with a sudden demand in power from the system. If you're running many things at the same time the power load will be quite constant rather than jumping up and down. An inadequate power supply might struggle with that, and system shutdown or restart could be a result of that.

Do you get any errors in the event viewer when you have these restarts?
